So soft!
I ordered this in Amethyst in my normal size small. I think it fits true to size though the color is less chocolate brown than pictured and definitely not amethyst as described (more a gray/brown tone). It’s not super heavy but plenty warm enough for a robe without being bulky. The belt holders on the sides are more noticeable than pictured. Overall, I love the super soft material, cut, and weight of this robe. I’m 5’3” and the length was great.

A real let down!
Soft but quality is very low, this robe should be no more than $40 bucks. Pocket are super cheaply made and held in place but a string, this robe fits awkward, the belt is not attached and it adds about 20lbs to your appearance. Sad because I was so excited about it and really wanted to love it.

small versus medium - vastly different!
my old ankle-length robe is nearing the end of its days, so i'm trying to find a replacement. i LOVE ankle-length and they're hard to find for a smaller-framed person. generally i look for a shoulder-to-hem length of 54", which i think is what is shown for size M of this robe, threatening to be too short in size S. i am always between S and M anyway, so i ordered both to find out which was better. normally, in most clothes these two sizes are very similar, but with this robe they are *vastly* different. it was like going from women's S to men's M.
for size considerations, i'm 5' 3.5" (too tall for petite and too short for regular!), and ~145 lbs. sometimes i wear a 6, sometimes an 8 in pants. small frame but busty at 32ddd.
both robes >>>
~ are buttery soft, that's for sure. the velour is soft on both sides, so it's soft on the inside, too. that's unusual and the reason it's 2 stars instead of 1.
~ the satin edges are a nice touch but i would have preferred better attention to other details instead.
~ the cuffs are almost "ruched" or "crushed" but not really - they're not smooth like the photo, though.
~ the "skirt" is almost inverted tulip. it's subtle, but made my hips look really wide and gave me a weird shape. more pronounced on the S.
~ personally i prefer front patch pockets to hold my cell phone better :D and for a nicer silhouette. these are deep, but aren't attached all the way around the pocket so they just hang like limp bags. (they come with that temporary string only meant to keep them flat until sold.)
~ the belt should be a different material; the velour is very slippery to tie.
~ overall the proportions seem odd in a way i can't put my finger on, but it could be the material.
~ weirdest of all, the back of the robe is 2" longer than the front.
how they differ:
~ the M is HUGE. i was drowning it in.
~ the sleeves on the M are considerably bigger. not longer: they're about 3-4" wider in circumference! the sleeves on the S are already generous. the M sleeves are ridiculous and since the velour is slippery, you can't roll them up. i have, for my size, large hands - no one needs the sleeve size of the M. the armpit was below my bustline!
~ the S is a good 2" shorter in the hem (although the back is still longer than the front). so for me, that's about 4" above my ankles. brrr.
~ the M is considerably wider overall, hence why i was drowning. but, to be fair, i'm on the smaller end of medium. robes always have so much overlap, though, that that much excess seems unnecessary.
the internal ties are maybe at a strange spot on the S? i wouldn't know on the M because one of the ties is missing. oop. but doesn't matter to me, i don't use those.
for nearly $130, i expect way better proportions and attention to detail. and if you're between sizes, well, i don't know what to tell you!

poorly made
I returned this robe. It was very soft but the pockets are a weird material and the sleeves cuff was getting all bunched up and twisted just upon trying on so I figured will only get worse with wears and washing.

Feels so luxurious
When I received this robe, I really wanted to like it. It feels so soft and luxurious. It fits well. Yes, the weight of my phone in the pocket pulls that side of the robe a bit, but that’s to be expected for a soft material. Nothing unusual there. What got my attention, unhappy attention, was that the label said this big, heavy robe was be HAND WASHED and line dried. Seriously? I waffled back and forth about that and finally went for the test. I machine washed it, delicate cycle, cold water. Then dried it in the dryer on low setting. It took almost an hour. No problem; it beat the heck out of hand washing and line drying it. It did not shrink, or pull up in different places, looking strange. My experiment came out well, but of course you’re on your own if you want to try this washing method.
I'm so happy with the sienna. It's a really pretty, a soft cinnamon color.
