The goal of watchmaker Skagen is to bring Danish-inspired ideals to the world through design that is imbued with purpose, honesty and simplicity. Founded in 1989 by Henrik and Charlotte Jorst, Skagen is renowned for functional thinking coupled with a clean, minimalist aesthetic. The result: elegant timepieces that last for years and never go out of style.
I had my eye on this watch for ages so when my old Fitbit finally gave up the fight, I decided to bite the bullet and get it. I'm so glad I did! I don't know whether it's because it's been so long that I didn't remember or whether they updated the features in the meantime but it does a lot more than I was anticipating. Not only does it track your steps and heart rate, as well as showing your notifications, but it also has tons of workout settings (which you can select from the watch - no app involvement needed unlike my old Fitbit). It also has a timer, stopwatch, you can control music with it and even a super handy feature to find your phone! (+ more). I've only had it for a week but so far it's really impressed me, it still has tons of battery life left and the heart rate tracking seems pretty accurate. I'd say the steps are perhaps slightly overestimated but then I've experienced that with other similar devices too. Looks-wise it's great and I've already received many compliments on it, including my boyfriend who is into expensive watches said it looked really good, especially for the price! I love how customisable the background watch face is, I was expecting a few different options but you can customize each element too and even have 'goal rings' for things like the steps, to show you your progress towards your daily step goal. I love the idea of the Hybrid watch, having the classic look of a watch, but with the added modern functionality. Before Covid I used to walk around with a nice watch on one wrist and a Fitbit on the other - not my best look! With this watch I can combine what I need into one. All in all, I'm very happy with this purchase across all fronts: it has functionality, looks, accuracy, and personalisation.

Very disappointed
I really want to love this watch. It looks great. But I am having a terrible time with figuring out how it works. It is not at all intuitive, and the instruction manual is not clear or helpful.

Looks stunning
I absolutely love the look of this watch, big fan of Skagen generally and was hoping they would have a collaboration with FitBit, as mine had broken. The watch looks stunning and does not look like something tracking steps, or showing notifications. I have really small wrists and this fits me brilliantly, I'm a few mm off the smallest setting. The strap is super comfy too and these all trump FitBit in my opinion. A notification appears at the bottom if you go out of range of the phone. You also get notifications here if you have messages. The range of notifications you can get is broader than Fitbit. My FitBit shows only text messages, the Jorn shows WhatsApp messages, Instagram, email and many more. My text/iMessages sometimes appear here, sometimes not, although that could be because they are linked to my FitBit still. You also get the little emojis in your messages too, sometimes if I'm tired or the lighting is poor it's not that easy to read but most of the time is absolutely fine. I've had the watch almost two months and the app has been updated in that time, this means that you can now interact with more than three settings straight from the watch. You can't set alarms from the watch, but you can set a timer directly from it. Setting alarms on the phone instead isn't a big issue, plus you get to add names to the alarm and these flash up. The face can be altered to hide the steps, heart rate etc, or change what is being displayed, you can also change background colour. You can change what functions are assigned to which buttons too. If you double tap the screen the background lights up, if you flick your wrists the hands sweep and you can more clearly see any background stats you have. The app is very easy to use, the calendar easily shows you days you met your targets, or how far off you were. You can set targets, and also reminders to move. Downsides are that you cannot edit the sleep logs. The sleep does track the different levels, unlike the FitBit you can't hover over the awake sections to see the times, although the time is along the bottom so you can roughly guess. Generally the Jorn shows me asleep for an extra 40mins compared to FitBit but not really an issue, it's all those micro-sleeps. Another downside is there is no snooze function on the alarm, although some people would say you shouldn't hit snooze. I'm also not convinced that the buzz for the alarm is strong enough to reliably wake me up. Some models has options to adjust this so maybe it will come in future. Steps and heart rate compared to FitBit are pretty much the same. If you are exercising it flashes up Start workout and logs your activity. Battery life is really good - I really care about activity minutes, steps and sleep and use WhatsApp notifications. Battery life is easily twice that of FitBit. Things that would make it five star - snooze, stronger alarm buzz and consistently displaying text/iMessages. I do love it though, and have been really impressed at the latest round of app updates.

Hands down would buy again.
I love this watch. I have tried garmin, apple and samsung and this is by far my favorite. It is stylish ( no one knows it is a smart watch. Texts and calls discreetly screened. Long lasting charge, 7+days. Only disappointment is lack of customization on the screen. Would like weather, steps and date.

Love the sleek look of this smartwatch
Love that this smartwatch is wellness focused yet looks so sleek and chic! I appreciate that the wristband is adjustable as I have a small wrist - I got the 38mm! and it fits perfectly. It has a ton of awesome features that I enjoy (the timer, activity tracking, long battery life and heart rate tracking) plus it elevates my activewear and pairs so well with my 'regular clothes' outfits! This watch was gifted to me by Skagen but I honestly would buy it on my own.

Lovely but too big
Lovely lovely lovely hybrid watch but far too big for my slight female wrist. I need the Lily size but with the battery life of the larger watches.
