Facial Treatment Pitera^™ Essence

After about a year of using this product, I still look nothing like Cate Blanchett. However, my skin does feel softer and my skin tone looks more even. I have sensitive, fair skin that is prone to redness. For the first 2 weeks, I applied every other night. That helped my skin adjust without a negative reaction: no additional redness, breakouts, or molting. The smell is a little off-putting, but I'd rather have that than additives just for a pretty fragrance. My first 5 oz bottle lasted 7-8 months which took a bit of the sting out of the price. I went with the 7.2 oz size when I reordered. I’m pretty sure I’m still going to die someday, but maybe I’ll look 10 years younger when it happens.

The Facial Treatment Essence is the only product in this line that I have tried so far. If you are interested in trying something from SK-II, this would be the starting point because the essence is the heart of the "ritual". It is a phenomenally calming and soothing essence which has dramatically toned down the redness that I can sometimes get from using Renova (retinoic acid). It has also contributed to a smoother, more even skintone. Although I have always taken good care of my skin, the essence just seems to be providing the extra nurturing that my sensitive skin needs. I pour about half a teaspoon into the palm of my hand, put my palms together to get the entire area wet, then apply it to my face, neck, and décolleté. I then wipe the remaining essence all over my hands. Don't waste product by using cotton pads. It's not necessary.

This is by far far the best thing I have done for my skin. I kept procrastinating because too many products give false promises. I am 57 and deal with wrinkles and at times still break out. I decided to try it, after a short time I watched my skin change it never breaks out anymore and talk about soft and smooth it is amazing. My son just got married a few weeks ago and one of the brides maids said I hope I look like you when I'm your age. Trust me I never compliment myself but that said it all plus my husband constantly tells me how soft my face is, that is a first oh and wrinkles are less visible. I don't feel I have to wear foundation all the time. I just bought my second bottle and it lasts a long time. I have an average income not wealthy by any means but this is the best investment I have made for my skin in fact I have saved money because I don't try anything else anymore.

I received a deluxe size sample of this essence and started out only using this once a day and after a week twice a day following directions that is prescribed by the line. I must say that this stuff definitely makes your skin appear poreless and absolutely flawless but once I started using twice a day the second week a bunch of white heads popped up. I immediately stopped using but now I'm faced with trying to get rid of them as my skin was once completely flawless....unless you want to count a few stray fine lines here and there. But for the most part I had no acne to speak of till I started using this. I think the magic ingredient is just far too much for my skin which is a complete shame as I really wanted to include this in line up. So if you are thinking about trying this I highly suggest getting a generous sample first before diving head first with a full-size bottle just so you can see if your skin will experience any negativity. I must say that all skins are not the same and its worth giving it a try even though it did not work for me.

I read reviews constantly, but rarely write them. I HAD to for this product! I am 39 (almost 40), have been a sun-worshiper most of my life, have good genes, but not a great relationship with my skin ("skin care" for me has often meant months of using whatever product was a free-with-purchase in the shower to wash off my make-up, followed up with whatever moisturizer my mother sent me. Also, I sometimes used to sleep with my make-up on. Yikes). This past year, I decided it was time to start treating my face better. I have tried a number of products, and given all a fighting chance. There have been a few that I will keep using, but this is the first one that I have seen a MAJOR difference with after using. I initially bought a smaller size, just re-ordered the big one. My sun-spots are disappearing. My forehead wrinkles are smoother. My skin feels super-soft and I even have a glow. I have no idea what is in this stuff, and I don't care. It's winter. I'm not tan (I do put on a Lancome gel face tanner 1x/week). Yet I now go out with out make-up and feel ok about it. IN LOVE WITH THIS STUFF!

I am pretty democratic when it comes to facial products as I have bought department store brands as well as drug store brands. I have always heard about the wonders of SK-II’s Facial Treatment Essence but I was wary that it would not live up to its promise. I WAS WRONG. You have to give this product a month to see the effects but it truly has been amazing. I have combination skin where my T-Zone gets oily. After one month, my skin’s PH-balance evened out and I am no longer oily in my T-Zone and my skin tone is so much more clear and brighter. I apply it to my face right after my shower in the morning. You can apply it directly to the face but I like use a cotton ball for easier application. Please, please, do your self a favor and give this product a try. My only regret is that I didn’t start using this product sooner.
