8-Inch Sensor Rechargeable Tabletop Mirror

This is a very frustrating mirror. #1 The light comes on when walking by, so I have to keep it facing backwards when not in use. Then the cat walks behind it and it's on again despite my efforts. The problem is that my vanity is in view of the bedroom, so the light can disturb our sleep. #2 Often when I'm putting on makeup and there isn't a whole lot of movement, the light goes out and I have to wave my hands to get it back on. Annoying #3 I've had this mirror for 2-3 years and I've noticed the mirror is deteriorating as seen in the picture. On a positive note, it is attractive and the magnification seems just right.

Everytime we walk by it, it automatically turns on. The users instructions say push the black area at the front and top to manually turn it on and off. Sounds great, I don't want the mirror coming on at night everytime I walk by it. A manual on is great when we don't want it coming on everytime we walk by, except it does not work that way, and this was confirmed by online support. The automatic on, means everytime you walk by it, day or night, the dang thing lights up. Support states the only way to avoid this is to pick up the unit, turn it over, push the hard reset button on the bottom and do this everytime I want to turn it on and off.

Probably not ideal for younger women, but those of us 50+…TOTAL game changer. It’s not a defect that the light comes on when you walk by. It also goes right back off within a minute maybe. Personally I like that the light comes on when I walk past it, especially at night so I can see in the bathroom. AND - it has been the only light I have had when power goes out during hurricanes or freezes. So that’s a bonus also. I can see my face up close so I don’t cake the makeup on. The lighting also makes it so you don’t look too dark/made up outside OR inside. I would never do make up without it again. I need the magnification and you will, too, when you get older. ;) Love, love!

I requested a makeup mirror for my birthday. The one I had used for probably 20 years had seen better days. I literally had a piece of duct tape securing the stand so it would stand up! I had no idea it would be so difficult finding something that worked for me. Many mirrors had poor reviews. I saw some great reviews for mirrors by SimpleHuman, but no way was I going to pay that much for a mirror. I finally settled on a conair double sided mirror, but I was so disappointed with the light level and the distortion on the magnified side. Thank goodness for the Nordstrom Anniversary sale that made this mirror only slightly higher than the conair. I returned the Conair and have been so pleased with this mirror. The light level is great, and I really like that it can hold a charge so I don't have the cord clutter on my counter. I thought I might miss the extra magnification, but the 5x works great for my daily makeup application. I bought a small round 15x mirror that I can stick on this one when I want to tweeze my eyebrows. This mirror is worth the purchase, even at full price.
