Great swim trunks
My husband is 5’ 9” and these are the perfect length. Great print and fabric. He loves them.

Gorgeous but bonkers waistband design.
So these look great and feel pretty good, but the design of the waistband makes no sense.
The drawstring only runs through the front of the shorts, hip to hip, and then the back of the shorts is all highly elastic. You can snug things up a bit but nothing definitive.
I actually love the print and how they look on me so I kept them, but so far am only wearing them for very mellow pool swims - no ocean waves, and nothing particularly athletic or when the kids will be climbing on me.
They haven’t flopped off catastrophically yet, but it’s definitely on the menu
The fit is loose at the waist and a bit snug in the crotch. I don’t think sizing down would be a realistic option due to the comparative snugness of the liner relative to the rest of the shorts.
There is a zip fly which is always a surprise in this context, but the mesh liner while fairly good for a mesh does not approach “wear as regular shorts” levels of comfort that some compression style liners can reach, so it just comes off as another odd design choice.
