What it is: A travel-friendly SPF compact foundation that delivers a powdery finish while drying sweat so makeup won't wear off or get sticky.
What it does: It helps prevent makeup fading while reacting with water to improve UV protection and giving skin a natural, lustrous and contoured look for long wear that outlasts the sun and outdoor activities. Its WetForce technology is what gives the formula the ability to become stronger when it comes into contact with water or sweat, protecting against UV rays. ProfenseCl protects from damage that leads to wrinkle formation and uneven skin tone, and contains soy lecithin for anti-wrinkle protection and licorice extract to address the appearance of dark spots. Amino acid nutrients provide the ideal moisturizing ingredients for sweat-prone skin; contouring powders promote a beautiful, healthy look; and a cooling essence provide a cooling sensation and a pleasant feel during and immediately after application. Its harmonizing fragrance wraps perspiration in a citrus floral scent to help mask unpleasant odors associated with sweating.
How to use: Use as the last step of your morning skin care routine. Take an appropriate amount of the sponge and apply from the center of your face outward. For additional coverage, lightly pat to build where needed.

Glad I gave this a try!
I’m surprised by how much much I like this. With my dry skin, cream compact makeup is usually terrible and show every flake and enhance every line. But this actually gave me exactly what I was looking for: sheer, satin finish (not matte or dewy) with a decent SPF and decent staying power. Mind you, I never rely on makeup alone for my sun protection, but it’s nice to have the little extra. The shade range is VERY limited. In most “American” brands, my tone is generally in the medium or light medium range. In this, I was medium dark. So I’d imagine that solid medium to slightly tan toned women could get away with Dark or Very Dark, but that’s the end of the list. Plus, if you have a strong pink or olive undertone, the shades may not work for you since they’re all pretty much a solid beige (equal pink and yellow). It does go on sheer however and even though I have a yellow undertone, the shade I chose was still fine for me.

Light is too light, light coverage
I don't know about the good reviews for this. I have dry skin, and this is not flattering on me. It doesn't have the radiant, dewy look that I'd prefer in a foundation. The Light is a little light on me, and I'm NC20-25. I had to put it on twice with the sponge that comes with it for it to show up better, so the coverage is pretty light. Maybe putting it on with a different method might work better. It did look a bit better with a radiant primer beneath it.

I have combination skin, and I got the medium since I am Asian. I noticed a medium make me loom super white and it doesn’t seem to cover at all. I also didn’t like how it feel. Just doesn’t go on to Asian skin that well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love Shiseido and this compact Hydro cream make up. The only complaint is that the company keeps discontinuing excellent products. PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT DISCONTINUE THE HYDRO COMPACT CREAM FOUNDATION. The powder compact doesn't come close.
