This essence liquid has multiple functions, which depend on one's skin type and preference. If your skin is normal to dry, this essence liquid is best used as a softening lotion under moisturizer or as an aftershave soother. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Surprisingly effective moisturizer. I was using the energizing after shave lotion (white) but shisheido discontinued it for a while so I gave this a try and it is very similar in effectiveness even though it is lighter/clear compare to the other lotion.
