Disappointing Reliability Issues
I bought my first Runwell in December 2014. The first one stopped working and Nordstrom replaced it about a year ago. Now the second one is also running far behind on time, even though I replaced the battery a month ago. So I've had two of these now malfunction in less than two years. A quartz watch at this price is overpriced already, especially given the reliability issues with this brand. You are supposed to be getting superior quality. I really like the design but have little confidence in the brand for the money involved. I now need to go dig out an old receipt somewhere to see if I can get this second one replaced. I know they have a lifetime warranty, but it's not good to have to keep replacing an item that has a premium price for being "made" in Detroit. The warranty sure is helpful though because you are likely going to be needing it. I also bought my wife a Kate Spade watch two years ago for around $150 and it is working just fine. This "runwell" for $550 keeps dying on me.

Looks great but.......
Unfortunately I returned the watch after wearing it for 20 minutes. The matte black finish looks great but marks up very easily. After 20 minutes of wearing the watch under a fleece jacket I noticed a white "scratch." I mention the fleece to inform others that the watch was not hanging off my wrist completely unprotected. It was not dug into the case but was more of a scuff. If this had happened after a month or two I would chalk it up to user error but not after the first wear.
Otherwise the watch is nice looking and the Shinola concept was/is intriguing. I am most likely going to purchase another Shinola without a matte black casing.

Shinola go Detroit!
The watch arrived much earlier than expected, shipped from a store despite being backordered and sold out on the Shinola site. It is an early production with a low serial number, and when I contacted Shinola they told me that it was grandfathered into their new lifetime warrantee.
The watch is very well finished, with the sandblast case unique, smoother than I expected. The dial is very readable, and it wears "smaller" then the 47mm size would predict. The leather strap seems first rate, and while I prefer metal straps it is comfortable and appears durable. I also appreciated the leather balm and leather watch slip case included with the watch. All in all I am happy with the watch, which seems a bargain as I was able to take advantage of the 3 day said.

Beautiful watch
I have been eying this company and watch for some time. The watch is high quality and looks better than the photo. The Shinola company is bringing American made quality to Detroit in an attempt to rebuild the economy there. Great product and concept.

Fashionably Classic
I received this watch as a Christmas gift from my wife. The packaging is very impressive and presents the watch very well. The leather band feels comfortable and there are plenty of positions for fitting many wrist sizes. The large face looks wonderful when on and looks good with any outfit, casual or dressy. The bold numbers on the face make reading time very easy. All the continued compliments received enforces the great look of this watch.
I would recommend to anyone.
