Substantial, well-fitting, and made in USA
One of the few leather jackets designed slightly longer in back - a welcome change from all the cropped styles out there.
Sizing may be true at the smaller end, but the XL in this jacket is a comfortable 12-14 (22" across chest, 18" across shoulders). Also ordered the XL in the Schott model without the belt/epaulets, and it seemed 1/2 size smaller (17" across shoulder, and slightly narrower all the way down). Since there was more ease in this belted model, that's the one I'm keeping.
Maybe Schott considers this a lightweight leather, but it's 5 lbs (beltless model is ~same). So quite heavy compared to lambskin, but very flexible and body conforming. The beltless model has glossier, smoother finish, but is somewhat stiffer.
For appearance, both jackets look exactly like the posted photos. Workmanship is excellent.

Great quality
Great quality jacket but it did not fit me well. I have larger arms and shoulders from the gym and need a more athletic cut. This jacket was just too snug all around. I did not think it was very lightweight though. Too bad.

Wear it with or without a motorcycle
This is a great leather jacket whether or not you ride a motorcycle! Fit is a bit small in the shoulders; so unless you are small built; but a size larger. While Schmitt calls it lightweight; it is not. The details are beautiful and I know I will love wearing it.
