Best Cafe Racer
I bought this Schott 530 after trying the 654 (shiny, lined cafe racer). I tried both L and XL (654) but ending up returning them because the fit just wasn't right. I'm 6'4" and weigh about 205 lbs. The XL was just huge all around and the large fit well around the chest and sleeves but the midsection was too wide. Anyway, I returned them to the store and ordered this one (530) in large. Upon unpacking it, I noticed a huge difference in the quality of the leather. The 654 is nice but it's definitely a lightweight leather and the leather is shiny. By contrast, this one is a medium weight but the leather is super supple and soft. I found it to be a lot more fitted all around. The chest area fits snug but not tight. The sleeves are even more fitted than the 654 because they include a leather flap that folds when zipped up. It is also more fitted through the midsection. Overall, compared to the 654, and even to other cafe racers that I tried, this jacket is slimmer. If you have an athletic or slim physique, this jacket accentuates your body better.
I mentioned that the leather is supple and soft. But I also want to emphasize that the quality of this jacket is far superior than the quality of other more expensive jackets. Honestly, I didn't find anything comparable to the fit, quality, and craftsmanship of this jacket. Add the fact that it's made here in the USA, and for me this is the best cafe racer.

The medium size fits way too small. I just can't zip it up because it is too small... I love the design; the leather is very nice... It's a warm jacket.. but TOO SMALL for a medium size. :-(

BROWN COLOR.
After reading other reviews, I am writing this purely to help anyone intending to purchase a brown jacket.
Brown is difficult to reproduce on any electronic screen. I have viewed the page on several devices and the colour is different on every one of them
However it was correct on a studio monitor.
Most devices are set up bright, meaning that the colour looks a lot lighter than it is in reality. This is even worse if the device is set up to be viewed in daylight.
I hope that this helps anyone intending to purchase a jacket

terrific leather quality
First a word on fit: I wear a 37 jacket, 5"10", 155#, 32" waist. The medium is a perfect fit on me. It's a slim cut, so it doesn't look boxy, and the sleeves are just the right length.
The quality of the leather is above average. It's thick but still soft and pliable. There are no visible imperfections. The hardware seems to be of solid quality as well. I've been wearing this jacket for a few weeks and haven't found any negative aspects to it so far.

Really Nice Leather Jacket
Picked up this one in black since I recently got the 654 in brown. This jacket is the real deal. Love the cafe racer style and the little differences from the 654 that make it not identical. First the leather is a little more supple but at the same time is heavier and thicker. The fit is a little less slim and the bi swing back makes for easier range of motion. Love the paid lining as well.

nice quality for the price
The quality of this jacket is wonderful, however the color of the brown is darker than pictured. I was looking for a lighter brown and the camera and/or lighting used in this photo makes the brown seem lighter and more interesting than what actually arrived. There were specific features I wanted including an extra leather flap behind the zipper, heavier leather for colder weather, gusseted shoulder details, and an inner pocket. This jacket meet those requirements.

Schott NYC Cafe Racer slim fit waxy leather jacket
I bought this jacket for my husband, he is obsessed with leather jackets and this one by far is the best one he ever owned! This leather is a not too heavy , it is tailored beautifully, very slimming but it has room in the arm area for comfort! I bought the brown color and it is gorgeous and you can wear it any season! Love it! Best purchase , worth the money!
