'50s Cowhide Leather Moto Jacket

This jacket is absolute perfecto! It's not mentioned on Nordstrom's website, but worth pointing out: This jacket is Schott's style #519 (see schottnyc.com). Sizing is true. I wear medium for most brands and clothing (dress shirts, tshirts, jackets, et al) and the medium in this style fits perfectly. There is room for layering a t shirt and a hoodie without feeling constricted. Pull the trigger - you will not be disappointed!

This jacket takes me back to Sun Valley Jr. High, 1989. I was so lucky enough to get a Schott jacket for my 15th birthday! I was the only one in my school to wear one and all the girls wanted me to let them wear it. I was forever known by my peers as “Booker” from the TV show with Richard Grieco. I have since parted with that jacket and have been dying to get my hands on a new one again. I’m currently 5’8” and weigh about 175lbs. I’ve been eyeing this jacket as the 519 on the Schott NYC website for years. This year I took advantage of Nordstrom’s sale with $200 off and I totally went for it. These jackets very rarely go for less anywhere new. I originally went for an XL because of my 44inch chest measurements, but wasn’t satisfied with the big bulky feel. I maintain a V shape figure so I went for a Large and couldn’t be any happier. There is still room for a sweater and can still use the zipper. I live in Los Angeles and don’t think I’d wear more than a T-shirt underneath. Leather treatment feels amazing! Buttery feel on steer hide! You can’t go wrong. You get durability and luxury softness in one. I would highly recommend this classic leather jacket to everyone with a “Rebel” spirit for sure! This screams Americana for all the ages. Thank you Nordstrom for making this possible for me!

Ordered 2 of these. They both had the same issue underneath the left arm, in the armpit area there’s a piece of material that sticks out and rubs against your armpit area, it’s hurts your arm and it’s annoying to wear. This is an issue that every cheap denim jacket has so I did not expect to find the same issue on this VERY expensive jacket!!!!. If you do order this jacket or ANY jacket remember to check the left arm and swing your arm many times over to see if the issue is there. Most of denim and leather jackets do. Even if it’s barley noticeable over time it will become more noticeable until it hurts your arm. Also the leather on this jacket is not as shiny, doesn’t look the same or feel the same as a older 519 I have tried . I think schott quality has gone down very much
