I usually get a 39-40, and purchased a 40. I should’ve gone up a full size. Also, the edge of the top of the shoe does hit right at the base of the toes. This may present an issue for those that have a bunion. However, the leather is incredibly soft. Also, the shoe (unlike some other Birks) makes the foot look small. The footbed is incredibly comfortable. Overall, great quality and beautiful.

Not sure why other reviews say these run small, I bought my usual size, 38 euro, size 7, and I'm able to wear them without socks and have been wearing them with ankle socks. I plan to take them on an upcoming trip to Japan for walking shoes for some dressier places I need to go to so have been testing them out and about, and so far no issues with them. I got the pink color since they can work as a good neutral to go with the outfits I plan on packing, I recommend them. My only feedback is that the soles are not as thick as other birks, you can definitely feel that they are thinner, but that hasn't seemed to compromise on comfort so far.
