Details & care

From rugged trails to city streets, this waterproof sneaker serves unparalleled comfort bolstered by a full-length Agile Chassis Skeleton for stability.

Perfect for: City and trail explorers who need waterproof protection and responsive, full-foot cushioning that withstands the challenges of navigating concrete/asphalt surfaces or uneven terrain.

Upper: Lightweight, breathable mesh provides essential ventilation when your intensity heats up, while the Quicklace® closure offers one-pull tightening that locks you in the moment you step in.

Midsole Drop: 10mm, the most common and generally considered to be the ideal standard for running shoes. Classified as a high-drop measurement, it allows for more cushioning to absorb the impact of heel strikes.

Lower: Grippy multidirectional lugs ground this trail-approved style, while responsive dual-density EVA provides soft landings and protects your feet.

  • Waterproof: protects against rain, puddles and slush to keep feet dry in wet conditions
  • Trail: provides superior stability and traction on hills, uneven surfaces and changing terrain
  • Cushioning: absorbs impact and distributes weight for consistent, buoyant comfort under each step
  • Quicklace closure offers one-pull tightening
  • Removable, cushioned insole allows for custom orthotics
  • Agile Chassis™ Skeleton maintains heel-to-toe stability on flat and uneven surfaces
  • Gore-Tex® waterproofing provides all-condition dryness
  • Synthetic and textile upper and lining/rubber sole

Do not recommend

These shoes were received as a gift and worn for the first time on a recent trip to Costa Rica. Unfortunately, issues became apparent almost immediately. The upper material began tearing at the natural flex point where the shoe bends during walking, which is not reasonable given the minimal use. Pronounced crease lines and a tear developed very quickly, giving the appearance of excessive wear despite limited use. More concerning was the failure of the Gore-Tex waterproof membrane. The shoes allowed water to enter rapidly during wet conditions, which suggests membrane delamination. This resulted in soaked feet even during moderate exposure to water, despite the product being marketed as waterproof. In some instances, traction was also inadequate, I experienced slipping in areas where others wearing basic footwear (such as flip flops and watershoes) did not encounter issues.

Good performance

Really happy with these shoes. The XT-4 OG GORE-TEX looks great in person and feels very well made. The Pearl Blue color is even nicer than I expected and is easy to match with everyday outfits. They feel supportive and stable while walking, and the cushioning is comfortable enough for daily use without feeling too soft or unstable. I also like the GORE-TEX protection, especially for rainy or wet days. They do feel a little more structured and firm than a typical soft running shoe, but for everyday wear, walking, traveling, and casual use, I think they are a great balance of comfort, support, and style. Overall, I’m very happy with the purchase and would definitely recommend them.

Heavy and uncomfortable

I bought these because I heard claims that Salomon's shoes don't hardly require any break in. I can confidently say that's false, I have only walked on asphalt and concrete so maybe that's it. I am returning them and looking for another model that works better for me though.

Comfortable and comparable

Very comfortable variant from the original XT-4 line. Have not noticed tearing as other reviewers have described. Was worried about my feat heating up due to the Gore-Tex but has not been the case.
