Great Boot!
Wonderful craftsmanship on this good looking made in the USA boot. Sturdy, durable, good looking and constructed with very nice leather, stitching and sole.
I did go down half a size as suggested and have no problem with the fit. The foot bed will mold to your foot as you wear them. The upper may take some breaking in--mainly around the inner ankle for me.
I'm looking forward to many years of stylish and comfortable wear out of these boots!

No Size For Me
I wear Redwing Pecos cowboy boots and flat heeled work boots. I have worn several pairs through the years and they are my "goto" boot. I wanted some dress casual boots for the office so I tried two pair of the Beckman round toes. I have short wide feet and usualy wear a 7.5 to 8 E. These boots ordered in a 7 seemed to be at least a 9 D. The ball of my foot just did not sit well and they would have creased wrong and caused pain to my upper foot. There were no options for a smaller wide boot so I returned both pair. Too bad because I think they were nice. Good quality boots. I will order truely custom hand made semi dress boots from Spokane Washington called White's Boots. It will take about 5 weeks though. Nordstrom may carry these as many stores do....but I went straight to the source. Nordstrom has great customer service and this return does not reflect badly upon them or Redwing Boots. Thank you.

High Quality - Attractive, Sleek and Rugged
The Pro's:
-One of the finest domestic USA made boots to be found. Triple Stitching, Goodyear Welt, etc.
-Unbeatable price during the anniversary sale.
- Versatile, looks sharp uptown or can easily be worn in the park or a short hike over the river and through the woods, thanks to the rubber combat boot type tread, which many heritage boots don't have.
- Leather is high quality, very stiff and thick. It has been noted that the black leather is the most difficult to break in do the dying and tanning processes.
- Heritage line is still made here in the states (Minnesota), however their lesser quality work boots are made overseas now.
- Overall, probably the best choice for a winter type boot for ice and snow (in Heritage line). I also own the Red Wing Iron Rangers and the smooth sole is a detriment in adverse conditions.
The Con's:
- At regular price ($340.00) these boots are probably a bit out of reach for the average consumer.
- Red Wing boots are notoriously difficult to size for the average consumer. Many different styles, lasts and other factors. These boots are built on a more streamlined and slightly more narrow last. If you have a "D" width or slightly wider then foot you should be fine. If you have a truly wide foot stick with your regular size or skip all together. Personally, I ordered a 1/2 size down from my regular shoe size.
- Thick high quality leather takes many weeks of irregular use to fully break in.
- This model, the Beckman or "GT" - Gentleman's Traveler, doesn't come in E/EE widths, a concern for many especially to the slightly narrow nature of this style.
- A compromise between a true work boot and a fashion boot obviously being marketed at a high end department store this model is decidedly of the later category.
- Boot is made a little large, presumably, due to the fact that it comes with no insole. It is up to the consumer to purchase one or in my case to leave it out all together. Also, most shoes and boots in this price range come with a fully leather lined inner. No such luck, the inner on these boots are unfinished, sans the banding across the top.
- The vamp and tongue are all one piece making the boot hard to get on for some.
Conclusion:
Anyone in the market for a sleek and rugged " high-quality" fashion boot should give these a try, especially if on sale. Nordstrom has a wonderful return and exchange program if sizing does indeed become an issue.

Can't get them on.
Very well made, comfortable, and looks terrific! However, it has a fixed tongue, which is so tight that it is almost impossible to get your foot inside. Also, however, it's easily fixable: you get out your X-Acto knife and CUT the tongue to make it a free tongue!!! I expected better for $330.

Red wing boots, gotta love them..
This was my second red wing purchase and fourth boot purchase from Nordstrom, I am extremely pleased with my red wing Beckman boots. As with most red wings they require a break in period to get a comfortable fit, these boots look and are very well made. I'm sure I'll enjoy my purchase for many years to come.

Beckman Boot Red Wing
Very stiff and uncomfortable. Might be OK after breakin period. Very overpriced for comfort level although good materials used.
