Dressy, chic backpack. Love it! Cut off strings!
I was in Italy for a week and this backpack was a perfect day-trip travel companion! It was light even when packed and easy to use while looking chic and dressy. I was able to fit a couple guide books, maps, a scarf, camera and small cosmetic bag in the main compartment with room to spare. I kept tissue, lip balm, socks and pens in the side zip compartments. It was comfortable to wear on my back and the straps were easy to adjust if I needed to. For security, I used a safety pin to attach the zipper pull to the top ring of the backpack-a good tip if you choose to keep more valuable items in your backpack (I wore a slim RFID blocking cross-body wallet under my coat) or you could use the back zip pocket for ID, passport, money, etc...The only thing I did not like about this backpack were the decorative leather string pulls so I cut them off! If they had not been stitched on, I would have untied them and kept them in case I wanted to tie them back on. When I got home I washed this in my front load washer in cold water and hung it to dry. It looks perfect! I purchased this in black nylon and would buy it other colors too. I highly recommend this backpack!

poor quality
I purchased this as an alternative to a regular purse. Several times the zipper had become stuck and could not be opened easily. Now the zipper is stuck cannot be opened and get belongings out of the purse without cutting/destroying the purse. I have had this for less than a month. Really regret purchasing.

wanted to love it
I've been on a search for the perfect backpack and thought I found it! Lightweight, decent medium size, stylish plus can transition from day to weekend with the kids. I love the style of the RMJ bags but wanted something not leather to hold sippy cups and to take to the pool etc... My main complaint is the material is too thin and flimsy that if the bag is not full, it looks sad and deflated and just collapses when you put it down. Also when it IS full, the zipper opening is too small to get to everything. I need to unload it just to find stuff at the bottom, which is not convenient when changing a diaper at a restaurant. If you're not trying to use as a mom bag, you might b ok. Unfortunately, I am not loving it.

No interior pockets at all
Whatever Julian backpack you order, make sure to look at the pocket situation - every single one seems to be different, across sizes and materials. I ordered several in leather and nylon, medium and large, and all the interior pockets were different. In fact, even the outer pocket on the back side of the backpack was different (magnetic snap on some, zipper on others, some fit my iPhone 7 and some did not). So, if you don't get the one you like, try another style : ) This regular sized Julian easily fits a medium sized S'well bottle, which is what I was looking for, but I returned it b/c of the missing interior pockets. Good value for the price, though. Nice and lightweight.

Trendy Backpack
I really love the look of this trendy bag, but it has a few issues. First, it scratches easily. This is actually my second (I returned the first) and they both had the same issue after one week. Apparently is it something that “makes each bag unique,” according to the care card included. The marks aren’t crazy noticeable, but after a week, there shouldn’t be signs of wear. Also, I find myself struggling to find things in the main compartment. No dividers or sections. The positives, it’s cute, it will be good for travel, it has different buckling options for extra safety, back zip pocket, and the best part HANDS FREE!

black/silver
This is my 4th RM backpack. I have a suede, the 2 Julian fringe, and now this one. I wanted something more 'water-friendly' than the previous 3 as I'm going away for a few days and it will rain. Though I wish the silver were more of a gunmetal or black color, I still love this backpack. I think the quality is great as usual and it's comfy.

Bad zipper, cute backpack
Almost the perfect backpack. It's so cute and goes with everything, BUT the main zipper is flimsy. It came off the backpack the first time I used it, so I replaced it at Nordstrom. Three weeks later, the replacement backpack's zipper also came off! I kept the backpack, but frequently have to jimmy the zip pull pack on.
