What it is: A cream-based exfoliating formula featuring fine riverbed quartz to slough away tired surface cells.

What it does: Lactic acid offers a mild chemical exfoliation to leave skin immediately cleansed, soft and polished. Aesop product formulations use botanical and scientifically validated man-made ingredients of the highest quality.
How to use: Dispense half a teaspoon into the palm of your hand. Work over your face and neck, including the lips. Avoid the immediate eye area. Allow the quartz and lactic acid to gently exfoliate by employing minimal pressure. Rinse thoroughly with warm water, then follow with your preferred Aesop toner and hydrator.

The best exfoliater out there!
This exfoliating cream is fantastic! I love love it! The tube lasts a long time and your face feels very soft after using it, it definitely takes off a layer of old cells on your face & neck! Highly recommend!

So painful
I adore Aesop’s body care range, so I was excited to try their skincare samples. As someone with sensitive, acne-prone skin, I rely on mild exfoliants a few times a week to keep congestion at bay. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of not checking the ingredient list before using this product - and I wish I had.
This exfoliant contains quartz particles, which felt incredibly harsh and abrasive on my skin. I was shocked at how painful the experience was! On top of that, it combines both chemical and physical exfoliants, a risky combination that can seriously compromise the skin barrier - especially for those with sensitivity.
For me, this was an absolute nightmare of a product. If your skin is even remotely sensitive, I strongly advise against it. I would never recommend this to anyone looking for a gentle exfoliation. A huge miss from Aesop.

THE BEST!
I’ve used a lot of Aesop’s skincare and bodycare. This exfoliates likes a dream. My skins is sooooo smooth after and my clogged pores basically disappears, especially when I double cleanse. It’s not too harsh on my skin. I’ve used it while on Acutane because my skin was so flakey and it worked fine. Definitely don’t use while on a harsh acne treatment like that, but it’s still so good.

rough exfoliating sensory experience!
Love this brand! The smell is Devine and makes me feel like I’m in a spa instead of my bathroom! The exfoliating is rough but not overwhelming. The paste is more like a gel. Careful it comes out fast! Only a quarter sized amount is needed for your face and neck so this should last a while! Love it!

feels purifying- have always been wary of non-chemical exfoliations as they do feel harsher on the skin. i’d definitely recommend using once or twice a week so as to not damage skin barrier, saying that i have only been using for a month!

gentle but you know it's working
I've been a loyal user of this product for years, can;t fault it except for the price though a little goes a long way so it does last for a while. polishes away dullness to leave skin soft without being too abrasive. love the distinct botanical scent and how my skin feels after !
