PreCip^® Evo Flex Rain Jacket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As someone who has owned both the Precip Eco and the Precip Eco Pro, I feel like I'm in a good position to say: the Evo Flex is the jacket Marmot should have been making all along. My biggest gripe with the standard Precip Eco was always how flimsy it felt — great for tossing in a pack but not exactly confidence-inspiring in a serious downpour. The Eco Pro solved the substance problem but introduced a stiffness that made it feel more like a piece of gear than something you'd actually want to wear. The Evo Flex threads that needle perfectly. It's noticeably more substantial and structured than the Eco, but far more supple and comfortable than the Eco Pro. The flex fabric lives up to its name. I picked mine up in Olive Grove and honestly wasn't prepared for how gorgeous the color is in person — rich, earthy, and versatile enough to wear beyond the trail. The real test came at a rainy school pickup. No hike, no mountains — just a parking lot in a genuine downpour. It performed flawlessly. Stayed completely dry, moved with me, and didn't crinkle like a trash bag every time I buckled a car seat. That everyday wearability is where this jacket sets itself apart. If you've been on the fence between the Eco and the Eco Pro, just get the Evo Flex. It's the upgrade the line needed.
