Not the most compressive, but the most comfortable
Wore this under a silk dress. It wasn't quite as smooth or compressive as Spanx shorts I also tried on, but the snap crotch was the deciding factor for me so that I wasn't fighting to get the garment back on every time I went to the bathroom. Did the trick.

Got the job done in comfort
I don't usually wear this type of undergarment but needed some tummy control for a mother of the groom long dress. I would normally buy a medium which was very tight, large was snug but not claustrophobic at all. The mesh panels on the butt & bottom were much cooler than other options and the snap closure was very convenient for the bathroom. It does come up high, but I tucked it in under my bra and it stayed in place great.
