Posh Peplum Top

I'm in my early 40s. I'm a chubby bubby baby and my hair is starting to go grey. I am doing my best to age gracefully, but, if I'm being honest, I don't feel *cute* very often anymore. I put this shirt on and - gasp! - I was CUTE! I opened this package at like 4 am because I had brutal cramps and couldn't sleep (yay!! 40's!!). I looked so cute that I was forced to wake my husband up from a dead sleep and say, "Look at my new shirt babe! I'm so cute!" Such was the power of the shirt that he got out of bed, lifted my hand above my head and spun me a few times, and said, "Let me see the swish, now!", and then, after revelling in the swish for a moment, kissed me and said I was beautiful and went back to sleep. It is powerfully adorable, and you just instantly feel like Joan from MadMen, and... where'd I put my Revlon Fire&Ice lipstick?? I am usually a 2X, 40D, 42 in. waist, 5'4". The 2X fit me perfectly. (Bigger waist? No problem. Bigger chest? Size up.) It is so flattering, and sexy, but it is not revealing. It does what every expert says we should do when dressing our apple shaped bodies - emphasizes the smallest part of your waist, while concealing the not-smallest part, and it makes it look really effortless. I wore it today with super cuffed dark denim jeans, but it would be cute with pencil skirts, cigarette pants, capris, slacks, potentially some wide legged pants. I can't imagine a body it wouldn't look great on. The fabric isn't super breathable, but the cut is such that you don't notice it. May be too heavy for very warm climes though. The ONLY negative, if I really, really try to find one, is that the fabric is a bit scratchy at first. If you are extremely sensitive in regards to fabric, it may be noticeable to you. I will update my review if that changes after a few washes.
