Plush Organic Cotton Bath Mat

I am so bummed this didn't work out. The mat itself is plush, comfortable, and very pleasant to step on when getting out of the shower. Unfortunately, it's also highly susceptible to stains. One week into my purchase and the most peculiar stains popped up. It almost looks like color transfer. I returned the mat thinking I had just received a faulty one. Repurchased, and the exact same thing happened again, this time after the FIRST USE. The mat had not been washed, and the shower had not been cleaned, so it could not have been an issue w/ detergent or chemicals. No use of oils or lotions either. I reached out to Boll & Branch to problem solve, but they weren't able to offer much insight beyond organic cotton is a natural, raw material without wax or chemicals to protect it, and that hot water may be too harsh for it. So the hypothesis is that the warm/hot water on my feet from stepping onto the rug fresh out of the shower is what caused the stains. If that's the case, it's way too fragile to be a bath mat!

I have been looking for a bath mat that is light weight and thin enough to not obstruct a door from opening and closing over it. This plush bath mat fits both of those criteria. I feel secure when stepping onto this mat from a shower because my feet dry completely before moving to a slippery floor.
