Daroca Bootie (Women)

After one week of use I was going to give these a 5 star review, but I never got around to it. I've had them two months now, and I'm glad I waited to actually see how they wear. This brand has seriously gone down in quality. The leather is still decent, but the heel and construction is cheap. I live in a city, and I thought these would be the perfect everyday boot. They really make your legs look longer since they don't come up too high, cutting your legs off. They aren't too round or pointy in the toe. However, the heel is falling apart after just two months. The heel is actually really squishy now that it's exposed, which gives poor support. I find that I walk a little funny in these since they aren't even or sturdy. There is leather wrapped around the heel to make it look like wood, but it is peeling off! The peeling leather on the heel clings to dirt and makes them look filthy. They look chewed up, but that's just the heel falling apart. Don't tell yourself that these will be an "investment" and that your cost per wear will be worth it. I'm considering throwing mine away since the heels are already way too trashed to donate. My old pair lasted at least 3 years. I can't believe these were such a dud! Like other reviews said, they do run a little small. I'm normally a 9-9 1/2, and a 40 fits me perfectly. They are narrow, but they stretch. However, because they are so poorly constructed, my feet hurt at the end of the day, and I was hoping this would be my perfect city boot. These are too expensive to be so poorly made.

I love these boots. I wore them 80% of the time in Europe for almost 7 weeks. Turns out they were more comfortable than the leather sneakers that I brought with me. I generally need a wide toe box and a narrow heel. I have bunions so this is important. When I first received the boots they did feel a little bit tight across the forefoot. I applied a little shoe stretcher spray and wore them around the house and I could tell that made a difference. Also, being leather, I knew they would continue to stretch to fit my foot. The insoles are very comfortable and they handled all of the cobblestones and uneven street surfaces with ease. And they are very very nice looking and stylish. They did get soaked in a pouring rain one day. I removed the insoles and they took a day or two to dry, but they still look and feel just fine. I ordered them based on the european sizing. I usually wear a 9 or 9.5 / 40. I ordered the 40 even though it said it was a 10 and it fit perfectly.

I bought the cognac color and just love them, however they run very small. I wear a 9-1/2 and the instructions said to order one size up. Since Pikolinos evidentally don't make 1/2 sizes had to order a 10. I couldn't even get my heel in it. So I returned them. It killed me to do this, but I ordered an 11-WOW!! It fits, obviously, and a bit roomy but not enough for any foot movement inside the bootie. Believe it or not, it still makes my foot look small and I don't know why. The bootie is really comfortable and I'm looking forward to wearing them soon.

I think this bootie is for women that live in the suburbs who want to feel ‘edgy’, but really don’t know what edgy actually is. The toe is rounded and the overall look of the shoe is very boring in person - definitely not how the photos look on the site. The photos give this shoe a character it doesn’t really have. I returned it.
