Contrast Piping Silk Pajamas

I tried three different brands of silk pajamas, and these were easily the best. The silk is thicker than other brands, which I've found in the past means much better durability. The construction is excellent, with a lot of quality details, like reinforced button plackets and buttonholes. Compared to a "designer" brand that charges twice as much (also from Nordstrom), these are far and away better quality. The detailing really sets these apart, too, from the stitching and piping to the button cuffs - love the button cuffs! They kept the sleeves from sliding up or down as much as open cuffs, and allow me to roll them if I feel like it. Since I wear the top as a "jacket" over a t-shirt for lounging, that's perfect for me. They fit TTS - I'm 5'4", 135lbs., and I bought size medium because I have broad shoulders and prefer roomy lounge wear. These fit exactly like I'd hoped. I do find that the rise is very high, at my belly button, but I'm short waisted. The length is to the floor on me, but I'm not stepping on the hem. I wish Nordstrom carried more colors of this pajama. As it is, I'm going to seek out the brand website for more, because they're about perfect.

These are lovely pyjamas, however the label warning to wash them in a laundry bag (or hand wash) suggests the issue with machine washing would be linked to perhaps damaging the pyjamas. In fact they shrink. I’m usually a size 6 dress / pant, maybe an 8, and the medium in these PJs is too small after it shrunk in the wash. Maybe it would have been ok if I hand washed them in cold water, but what’s done is done and now these lovely PJs are less comfortable than they first were.
