How to use: Apply eyeliner as close to the lash line as possible and line the entire length of the lid.
Pro tips: To soften liner after application, smudge the line using your finger or a brush. Apply liner using short, feathery strokes for a more natural effect. To accentuate the shape of the eye, apply liner thinnest at the inner corner of the eye and thicken the line as you move outward.

Best liner ever!
Recently purchased this in the chocolate truffle. I have tried the gel liner but a pencil is easier for me to master. I moved up from Clinique to Chanel and was pretty happy. But this product is really superior to both. Applies easily, lasts all day and does not irritate my sensitive eyes. Love it!

Short lasting
Works wonderfully and is easy to use. However, lasted only about two weeks (with infrequent use). At this price, and being a fan of Bobbie Brown cosmetics, I was very disappointed. I surely cannot afford to purchase this again.

I want to love this
I use Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner out of the pot and was hoping that this would deliver the same long-lasting, awesome color (without having to use the brush). It doesn't have the same staying power and certainly didn't last 12 hours. I'm in my early 50's and struggle to find eye makeup that stays put all day. This one just doesn't stand up to that test. I'm sticking with the gel in the jar.

Well made pencil in limited color range
After 10 days of comparing favorite eyeliners, wondering if the brand really makes much difference, I've decided that it does.
This is a very nice pencil. To me, better than Urban Decay. And the pencil mechanism - though it's too soon to know for sure - seems sturdier than in some other brands.
The quality of the product itself would rate 5 stars, but I deduct a point for the colors. For daytime wear I often prefer a mid-tone neutral instead of black. There weren't enough non-dark choices. Subtle khakies, greiges and tobaccos would be so useful.
I also look for subtle pearlescence, for adding color depth. As dicey as glitter can be, flat matte eye products can be surprisingly unforgiving in a different way.
"Scotch" was my only option then. Initially it gives an attractive, dark bronze-y effect. Unfortunately, the shine is more glitter than pearl. Soon after application, "Scotch" sheds small gold glitter particles below my eyes. That's not great for over-30s or anyone who wears contact lenses. I hope it gets reformulated with a finer non-shedding pearliness and that other mid-range colors will soon be added.

Re-purchase
This is my second one and I even though I had looked at others, this was the deepest gray.
It certainly does my eyes good in the smokey eye effect.
Bobbi Brown also makes a wonderful coffee color too and I put gray on the top lid and brown on the bottom and it looks great with just a nice contrast the naked eye doesn't recognize but the effect is really nice.
