Papillio by Birkenstock Fanny Buckle Clog (Women)

I own these in both the taupe suede and anthracite suede and I love them. They were comfortable straight out of the box. My feet are on the wide side and I like my Birkenstocks to fit loosely. I wear a 35R in Birkenstock sandals and a 36R in the Boston style, and was concerned that these would be too narrow. I was pleasantly surprised that the 36N in the Fanny Buckle fit perfectly adjusted to the second to the last hole on the strap. In bare feet, there’s some space at the heel, of course, because my true size is 35; however with the 36N, I can comfortably wear these with my thick merino wool fun socks even with my wider feet. I love the anthracite color. It’s a true, dark charcoal gray upper with a dove gray footbed. The taupe is exactly the same taupe you’ll find in the traditional Birkenstock styles. The upper and footbed liner on this one are both the same color. If you truly have a narrow foot, you can adjust the straps pretty tight, but the toe box is still going to be pretty roomy. If you wear a medium width or even have a wide-ish foot — don’t let the “narrow” width scare you. Buy these!

I wore these at most 6 times. Never in rain or snow. While out running errands in a store the heels both cracked and crumbled then pulled away from the leather as I shopped. I had to go buy a pair of shoes! I own several mephisto shoes for years and they’ve never ever crumbled or deteriorated like these. I invest in quality so this doesn’t happen. Total waste of money unless you like disposable shoes.
