What it is: A set of four unscented, paraffin-free pillar candles made from 100% palm wax and featuring a pure cotton wick.

What it does: These pillar candles cast a warm, beautiful glow through their translucent outer walls. Each pillar is meant to be burned for a period of three hours after an initial burn time of 4–5 hours. Shorter burn times can lead to tunneling while longer burn times can lead to sidewall blowouts and drips.

How to use: Trim your wicks to a quarter-inch before lighting the candle, and during longer multi-hour burns, too. When the wick gets long on a pillar candle, the flame gets bigger and can cause the long wick to curl over, displacing the flame from the center of the candle. As the flame reaches toward one side, it is likely to burn a hole in the wall of the candle and cause a blowout, complete with a pool of wax on your base.
