This ultra-packable hooded jacket in incredibly light and delivers the most compressible and lofty fill for four-season warmth.
Its ripstop nylon fabric resists abrasions and shields against wind and light precipitation. The discontinuous quilting pattern reduces stitching and creates an uninterrupted warmth flow. Additionally, this piece packs down to palm size.

Great for tall women

I’m 5’10” and struggled with sleeve length on outerwear items and shoulders being too snug. This coat is amazing! Arms are long enough and it doesn’t pull through my shoulders. Overall length is good on my long torso and it has a nice feminine cut that I don’t get when I have to buy men sizes. Super impressed! Excited to use it as outerwear and as a mid lawyer under my ski patrol costume this winter. For reference, I’m 5’10, 150lbs athletic build and a medium fit perfect!

Great for tall women

I hiked the Appalachian trail with a his jacket! L

I packed this when I thru hiked the Appalachian Trail. It was light weight and provided the warmth when I needed it up in the mountains. I also used it at bought when needed more warmth when sleeping. It took me 6 months to complete so when I summited Mt Katharine it was fall weather. I still have the jacket and can’t believe it is in great shape. I would recommend this jacket! I really like the fit. I am considering picking up the black.

Not durable

Although I loved the fit, the color, the warmth and packability of this jacket, it's not durable. The zipper at the neck broke after a few months of wear and I patched up many small holes in the material. After 2-3 seasons I am back shopping for another layer. By contrast, my old Patagonia Nanopuff lasted about 10 years of heavy usage. Sadly, Superstrand hoodie is not worth the price.

Disappointed

I was super excited to have a lightweight jacket and loved the look of this one. As soon as I wore it for the first time, it started “shedding” and has “strings” of thread hanging off all over the jacket. And then, after wearing just a couple of times, the zipper (very flimsy) broke. Now I can’t even wear it and it’s too late for a return/exchsnge. Very disappointed.

Awesome mid layer or outer layer weather dependent- used multiple times in Patagonia for trekking- packs nicely and easy to bring out and thrown on- hood is a necessity in Patagonia winds- highly recommend.
