Great Stroller, but Needs Better Support for Taller Toddlers
We have the Orbit Baby X5 stroller and have loved using it, but once our toddler grew past about 32 inches, it became noticeably harder to keep her comfortable.
The main issue is the seat padding insert. It is too short to properly support the head of a taller toddler, and the shoulder strap positions sit too low once the child gets taller. As a result, her head is no longer well supported, especially when she reclines or falls asleep.
Since the stroller is rated for children up to 44 inches, we would really like Orbit Baby to offer a longer toddler insert designed for children in roughly the 34 to 44 inch range. That would make a big difference and extend the comfortable use of an otherwise excellent stroller.
We have also noticed that when the seat is fully reclined, the sunshade sits higher and allows sunlight to reach the child more easily. A canopy extender or additional shade panel designed specifically for the fully reclined position would be very helpful. At the moment, we end up hanging a blanket over the stroller to create enough coverage.
We really like the stroller overall. These two accessories, a longer toddler seat insert and a recline-position canopy extender, would make it much better for older and taller toddlers.
