What it does: Its densely pigmented, lightweight formula glides on without tackiness and sets to a modern opaque matte finish, creating a bold, vibrant and dramatic-looking lip. It contains a breathable film of intense pigments that instantly bonds to the lips and treats them with skin-conditioning emollients, fruit extracts and vitamins to nourish and protect throughout the day. A custom doe-foot applicator allows for precision application.
How to use: Your lips must be bare to ensure optimal coverage. Apply directly from the lip applicator and allow to set for one minute. Store in a cool, dry place, keeping away from extreme heat and cold.

divine cool-toned pink
I love a good pink lipstick, but it's hard to find just the right one, especially since my skin tone does not play well with warm-toned colors. (Some cool-toned women can get away with warm-toned lipsticks - I am not one of them!) Ballet is a lovely, fresh, sophisticated pink. Nothing Barbie doll or Legally Blonde about it. The Opaque Rouge formula is long-lasting and matte but it is not easy to work with. I've found the best way to apply it is to start in the center and work the product out. I use a lip brush to make sure my lip line is really well defined although in a pinch the doe foot applicator is flexible enough that you can get a pretty good line. I leave my mouth open while the color is drying - if you try to add a second layer, the product balls up so it's important not to do the lipsmack thing with this product. Once I got used to the Opaque Rouge formula, I really loved it because it is long-lasting (though I usually reapply after a meal) and I love the pigmentation and finish.

Had high hopes for this liquid lipstick. Felt like it sucked the moisture out of my lips. Felt awful.

LUXURIOUS
This is the perfect lipstick. It's goes on very easily. I've never bought a lipstick that felt so creamy and luxurious. I actually bought 2 in the Icon color in the liquid lipstick and cream stick. It's the deepest, prettiest red I've ever seen. Very sexy and luxurious. I bought it not knowing that it was paraben and sulfate free. I think it might be fragrance free too. The fact that this is a non-toxic lipstick is a bonus.

Applicator issue
I recently bought the Icon Lipstick and loved the color so I wanted to try the Opaque Rouge in the same color.. The color is wonderful and lasts for hours but the applicator is terrible. It is so flexible that I thought it was broken. It bends so badly you just can;t get it applied evenly. Spots are blobbed too thick. I have to use an additional lip brush to smooth it out. If Hourglass would re engineer the applicator It would be a 5 star product.
I will probably use an applicator that is more rigid that fits the container.

Best lipstick ever!
This is a fabulous lipstick! It's moist and stays on seemingly forever! The color (rose) is beautiful and survives both drinking and eating. Most highly recommended.
