Ultimate 81^™ Sneaker (Men)

Onitsuka Tiger 'Ultimate 81 Sneakers' are simply my favorite everyday comfort shoes because they feel and look amazing. I've had six different pairs over the last decade and what I've learned is there are essentially two constructions of the Ultimate 81- mesh built construction vs. the other materials. The mesh built are made with a much flatter arch than the versions built with other materials such as canvas or leather. Additionally, the mesh are all a bit roomier. If you prefer minimal arch support, than go with the mesh. Otherwise, for more arch, shop for the builds from other materials.

My husband found this to be an incredibly comfortable shoe. However, within a few months we noticed that the plastic started peeling back from the toe area. We took our time to get it back to the Nordstrom in Del Amo to inquire about the quality of the shoe. Unfortunately, I was told by the sales person that this would be normal wear and tear. Seriously? This sounded ridiculous. He said that he had a pair and that the same happened to him but that it was normal and that these types of shoes weren't meant to be worn more than a few months. Sounds ridiculous and makes me question what type of people Nordstrom is hiring these days. I'm sending the shoes back directly to Nordstrom HQ. Maybe they can give a better answer.
