Hollywood High Waist Skirt

I purchased the NYDJ Hollywood High Waist Skirt in Optic White from Nordstrom, and the black one from another store. The recommendations on this skirt are to order one size down for a reason, and that's because of the amount of stretch NYDJ builds into their clothing to give added bonuses of lift and tuck technology, which holds in your belly and lifts your butt! I've been buying NYDJ for many years, so I'm familiar with their sizing and size 2 in 99% of the NYDJ items I've ordered work perfectly for me. I am 5'9", 130 lbs, and I typically wear a size 4. For this NYDJ denim skirt the size 2 is perfect. This skirt is a straight skirt if you have minimal hips and butts, but it will become a pencil skirt if you have larger hips and butts, meaning it will be wider at the hips and then be narrower at the knees. I am almost straight up and down and the skirt comes to my knees, so the fit is perfect for my shape, height, and weight. I have six NYDJ five-pocket denim skirts which were more of a slight A-line, so I always had to take them in on the side seams to make them a straight denim skirt. With both the black and white skirts I purchased in this style, they were the perfect straight skirt right out of the bag so no alterations needed for me. The weight of this denim skirt is right on with enough substance to it to allow it to hold it's shape, but not a heavy denim that would make it uncomfortable or too warm to wear in the summer. I love denim skirts, and wear them spring, summer, and fall with my birks and a button-down oxford shirt, but you could also wear this in the winter with boots if you like. I love this skirt!
