The tough-but-lightweight, streamlined PIPA Lite LX car seat made with aerospace-grade aluminum and featherweight fabric weighs in at just under six pounds. That's more than two pounds lighter than the brand's original PIPA car seat.

Why parents will love it: An ergonomic carry handle and extralight design make it easier to tote, and easy-release buttons at the base make car-to-car transfers simple and quick. State-of-the-art Aeroflex™ foam and fused plastic create a resilient, shock-absorbing frame for safety, while microknit fabric offers durability, a soft feel and a luxe look without extra bulk.

Why kids will love it: A comfortable headrest with patented Tailor Tech memory foam cushioning adds comfort and adjusts for a custom fit as baby grows. A sky drape™ UPF 50+ canopy shields little eyes from the sun and rain—simply zip out the extension for extra protection (hidden magnets make for a streamlined fit).

Child weight/height: 4–32 lb.; up to 32".

Car seat weight/dimensions: 5.7 lb. seat; 19.7 lb. car seat with base; 22.5" x 27.25" x 17.5".

Car installation: The PIPA Lite car seat base—required for use of this car seat in any vehicle—makes it easy to take the seat along as you travel with True lock™ installation that takes just five seconds.

Stroller compatibility: Some Baby Jogger, Babyzen, Bugaboo, Stokke, Mountain Buggy, Inglesina, Joolz, Silvercross and Veer strollers (all sold separately, adapters required and not included).

Baby #3 and I wish I had this from the start!!
I am obsessed with this car seat !! This is my third baby and I have owned many high end infant car seats including the Peg Perego and the Uppa Baby Mesa! This one is my absolute favorite! Not only is it extremely well-made, the fabrics are also excellent and the light weight feature makes it well worth the money it is a breeze to carry compared to other sites that I’ve owned. The dream drape feature is also a huge plus I used to cover the baby with blankets, milk snob covers etc., and it is nice to have one less thing to carry or worry about and, it prevents people from touching the baby and it gives him lots of privacy and shade during his naps! My only complaint (and this is not directly about the car seat) is that Nuna does not have a car seat travel bag specific for the pippa so, I will be using the Uppa baby car seat travel bag that I already have.

Very disappointed/ poor Fabric quality
I bought this car seat because of the super lightweight, but the fabric is very cheaply made. After about seven months of use material started to rip and the color started to fade (see photos). I was expecting a better quality for that amount of money.

Ripped/pilling fabric
Disappointed to see such a reputable company producing cheaply made fabric on their latest infant car seats. See photos. It’s already pilling on one side and fabric tearing at seatbelt area. I have another nuna pipa regular that’s two years old, which went to multiple washes and survived beautifully. This new nuna fabric is not as good. Nice thing is Nordstrom allowed me to return it and exchange it but I’m afraid if the fabric is the same as this 2019 one, it’ll rip too. I’ll update after I use that one for several months.

VERY DISAPPOINTED! Read before you buy
For our first child we had the original Nuna Pipa and we LOVED it! So naturally we decided to get another one but opted for the lite version. I love the look and fabric but was SHOCKED to find that you can’t install the car seat without the base! The original version will allow you to install into any car without the base so you can take it on planes and into Uber/taxi without lugging the base everywhere. Not the case with this one. Now we have to have a base for each car and if anyone takes the baby anywhere they have to take a base too. I really wish they would have kept the without base installation option. Very disappointed. This may not be an issue for others and if it’s not, it’s a great car seat. We won’t be returning it however because once the box is open they will just throw it away if we return it for safety reasons.

Very disappointed/poor fabric quality
I bought this car seat because of the super light weight, but the fabric is very cheaply made. After several months of use fabric started to balling and ripping at seatbelt area(see photos), the color faded even though it’s never been washed. I was expecting a better quality.

Nuna lite lx
Car seat is mostly easy to install although the instructions could be a little clearer. Took me about 30 minutes to figured everything out. The car seat, once attached to the base, is not completely fixed (will move a bit) on which apparently is normal. The materials are really soft and easy to remove as I already pre-washed them before baby arrives. Material didn’t bunch up or shrink, but I did air dry them as per instructions. Car seat is very light compared to others. I really like the canopy cover! Also, I’m using the vista stroller with the maxi cosi adapters and fits perfectly. Is it worth buying it for $400? That’s up to you. Avoiding toxic chemicals and having the lightest car seat was important to me. Plus having the canopy as privacy to avoid strangers touching my baby is a bonus.
