LUMN Harness to Booster Car Seat

I’ve installed and used this seat for about a week now, and love it. I have a Model Y that has been hard to get a good car seat install in, and this is exactly what I was looking for. It was shockingly easy to install securely on the first try (and I’ve installed other Nuna seats) and aligns with the interior style of the car. My child has a long torso and I love that at an 18.5” harness height this will fit longer than convertible seats. My child had already outgrown the Rava in harness height when I flipped them forward facing, despite being well within the limits, but isn’t ready for a booster. This is comfy and cozy, and the footrest and cup holders in particular were a big hit with my child, who calls it a “big kid seat”. I appreciate the "clean" fabric and love that this should last through the end of our car seat age. Pay attention to the minimum age (2), height (34"), and weight (30 lbs) minimums for this seat and ensure your child is ready for this style of seat. It's intended for kids that are close to or have outgrown a convertible seat but aren't yet ready for a booster seat. It's NOT designed, nor safe, for babies just transitioning from an infant bucket-style seat.

My son is a little big for 15 months so I thought the LUMN might be too advanced for his age. Once I figured out how to recline it, I saw he’s definitely big enough with the (up to 40lb) insert. I suggest reclining it before you buckle it and secure the top anchor. Watch a video on it so you can see how to use all of the features of the LUMN, it saved me when I thought it wasn’t secure enough, turns out I didn’t buckle it properly. We’ve had it for 2 days now and this big boy loves it! His little wrist rolls chilling on the arm rest, cup holders fold down to give a little more space on the sides when not in use. Overall we’re loving it

We bought this as a replacement to our Nuna exec car seat (replacing due to a traffic accident). After our great experience with the Exec we thought this would be the natural replacement. It’s a beautiful car seat and relatively quick an easy to install. Unfortunately though, the reclining tab produces an annoying constant rattle over any kind of rough terrain. We drive a luxury German vehicle which dampens most terrain so I’m very surprised how much this seat rattles. I reached out to customer support and they confirmed I do not have a defective unit and were unable to offer any solutions other than thanks for telling us. Long story short, disappointed for a premium, luxury, top of the line car seat.

I've had Nuna seats for all of my kids from birth, starting with the Pipa, Rava, this and the Aace. Getting a proper installation with Nuna seats is probably what makes them so safe. I can get a proper install in any car we've used with a Nuna. Safety is paramount, which is why we always buy Nuna seats. But there are a few points where Nuna can improve. PROs: 1. Inside arms rests, brilliant and actually useful as compared to most other products' arm rests 2. Solid construction 3. Belt tightening feature 4. Soft high quality fabrics 5. Slim design 6. Easier for child to get into vs Rava, because Rava is a higher, deeper, bucket style. This is more of a lower profile. CONs: 1. Cup holders are grossly subpar on Nuna products. These are so flimsy they constantly collapse. Hard to wash. 2. Not getting any more mileage out of the straps on this than the Rava. Says they outgrow at 49", my child outgrew at 47" (got it at 44"), so I only got less than one year of use out of this. 3. The booster mode is not good at all. The clip to hold the seatbelt swings out, not in, so you have to rethread the seatbelt every single time. I also don't see how a child much larger than mine could use the booster mode for very long, comfortably. 4. Hard for child to buckle seatbelt in booster mode because it is taller than most dedicated boosters 5. EXPENSIVE - holy moly. So expensive for something that doesn't really offer much use beyond what the Rava already does and booster mode is a joke. 6. Only 2 recline positions. Doesn't bother us much but could bother some who may be used to more recline. I got this after our Ravas were in an accident and I thought this would be good because of the ability to put it in booster mode after what I thought would be at least 2 years of use. I don't see a use-case for this seat and I'm sad I spent so much on this just have to turn around and buy a different seat 10 months later. If you have a Rava and are thinking of getting this, don't. Just max the Rava out and move to a high back booster. Or use the harness booster from another brand which maxes out height at 54" for the 5-point harness.

True to Nuna, this is another great, stylish, and safe car seat for my 4.5 yr old. It’s spacious and luxurious with the leather accents, armrests, and larger sized cup holders so it actually holds my son’s water bottles! Love that it also “reclines” a little so it’s still comfortable for a nap in the car if needed.
