Great Shirt
I have been wearing the Nordstrom Boat shirt for over 15 years. One of my favorite shirts. The shirt has always been true to size over the years and very long lasting. Always very good quality. I like both the solid colors and the patterned Boat shirts.
My only complaint is the fact that the Boat is not always in stock. I remember years ago when my local Nordstrom had a table full of the Boat Shirt in 8 to 10 colors.

Smartcare Traditional Fit Twill Boat Shirts
I am disappointed in this range of shirts. Nordstrom's seem to have cut way back on the choices. I have been getting these for over 15 years. I used to order them in 4 5 or 6 colors at a time. Now there are only a few choices. They also used to make the exact same style in short sleeved versions which were great for summer. I love the quality, look, and feel of these shirts (some of them have lasted a decade). The collapse of this range to such a poor selection was heartbreaking. The one star is purely about the lack of color range and short sleeved versions.

Boat Shirts
My husband absolutely loves these shirts, so we were very disappointed to find that after years of purchasing these, the cut has been changed to a slimmer fit. He has 52" shoulders and the traditional cut was wide enough that they would accommodate his build. By changing the cut, he is now unable to wear them as they are too short in the arms and too tight across the shoulders and chest. Also, there is no other option as a replacement other than a long, which there were none available. Love the quality, love the shirt, wish you would go back to the traditional cut used previously to provide larger men with an option.

Love the Boat Shirt
This is my go to shirt for work in the winter months. I've been wearing them for years. Comfortable and my wife loves the wrinkle free material.
Nordstrom--I need an orange color and a yellow. Please bring back some more colors...
I like that the shirt doesn't have a pocket. Ralph Lauren was once quoted as saying, "his shirts don't have pockets because the men who wear them give the orders". :)

Good to see this shirt again, but no pocket!
Nordstrom had a Golden Age of Smartcare shirts about 10 years ago; deep rich colors, good quality, the shirts lasted for years. For the last several years, they wimped out and just had the same shirts everyone else had, light colors that work well in the corporate office and are kind of boring elsewhere. Other companies had bold colored shirts but they were shiny and/or wore out in a year. I'm glad to see the deep Smartcare shirts coming back, and especially the Olive color Boat Shirt, which was one of my favorite shirts and I've been sliding by on inferior versions for the last few years. Great to see the Olive Boat Shirt again, which is almost the same fabric (although it is completely solid color whereas the old one had a more complex fabric with a lighter thread superimposed throughout). The problem? No pocket! So if you wear glasses, you are out of luck unless you want to hang them from the buttons when switching from regular glasses to sunglasses and back. I am currently trying to see if I can get a swatch to take to a tailor to have a pocket made, because I really want to wear this kind of shirt again! Please Nordstrom, offer pocket options on your dress shirts; it's expected!

No pocket??
It's not highly-tailored, it's a boxy fit. So why no pocket?? I need a place to hang a pair of glasses and/or a pen (yes, people still need a pen...)
Already went back.

Fabric changed
I bought four new shirts in various colors at my wife's suggestion. I have loved these shirts in the past. and my wife loved the quick and easy ironing, just a slight touch-up.
The fabric has changed and is no longer as crisp to the look or feel and much harder to iron. I always like my shirts washed before wearing them so I unwrapped and had my wife wash them all thinking they were just like they've been in the past. It was a big mistake.
I will not be getting my old favorite in the future.
