Ethically Sourced Decaf Debut Espresso Blend 2-Pack Whole Bean Coffee

This is outstanding espresso. It is full bodied without being the least bit acidic or bitter-tasting. It actually does have a subtle chocolatey flavor to it, as advertised. I do wish there was an option to purchase a single bag at a time for freshness; that would be my only complaint. That said these bags are well sealed and as they are only 12 oz each, I go through them pretty quickly anyway.

I bought this coffee specifically to make cold brew, because I read on a website that slightly better than national chain beans should be used (and using the good single-origin small batch beans is ill-advised). Initially I was skeptical, when I opened the first bag , because the beans smelled burnt and were very dark and oily, but I did some research and learned that those were the qualities of French or Italian roasted coffees. I let the coarsely grounded beans "brew" in the fridge for a little over 24 hours, and I was delighted by how great the cold brew came out! I even heated it up on the stove one day to try it hot, and it was great that way as well! It stayed good in the fridge for a week, and I am happy to continue using these beans for future cold brews!

It’s so hard to find good DECAF whole bean coffee. Someone gave us a bag of this in regular as a house gift (also excellent) and, once I found the decaf, I never looked back. It makes great French press. It is rich and smooth. Nicely balanced. A completely different universe from Starbucks and vey economical when I think about how much I save by making my own coffee. Only problem is, sometimes they are out of it...
