Major Quality Issues – Pull Tabs & Sole Noise
I’ve owned several pairs of NOOSA Tri and have always been impressed — until now. My NOOSA Tri 15s (purchased July 29, 2024) and even my older NOOSA Tri 14s (August 2023) held up well, with all pull tabs still intact after heavy use. I also own multiple pairs of Gel-Kayano and Gel-Nimbus, and their heel tabs are still strong.
Unfortunately, the NOOSA Tri 16 has been a huge letdown. On the very first use, the pull straps tore apart (photos attached). This is unacceptable, especially for a shoe at this price point and from a brand I’ve trusted for years.
Another noticeable downgrade: the soles have changed. The NOOSA Tri 14 and 15 were 100% quiet on gym floors, but the NOOSA Tri 16 squeak loudly on vinyl — these are the squeakiest shoes I’ve ever worn indoors. Comfort and fit are fine, but the build quality and material choices have clearly gone down.
I hope ASICS takes this seriously and resolves both the pull tab durability and sole material issues before releasing the NOOSA Tri 17. As a loyal ASICS customer, this was extremely disappointing and makes me hesitant about future purchases.
