What it is: A limited-edition floral fragrance in a minimalistic vessel shaped like a drop of a fragrance.
Fragrance story: A drop of glass that encompasses all the strong, paradoxical emotions evoked by Nº5 and felt by the woman who wears it. Less abstract than its forebears, Nº5 L'Eau radiates citrus like sun-drenched honey. Top notes of lemon, mandarin and orange are propelled by aldehydes, followed by a profusion of flowers. Rose melds with airy jasmine and a touch of ylang-ylang, more modern than ever. Behind this floral whirlwind, vetiver and cedar impart a novel dynamism, softened by white-musk notes.

Wow! Fast Arrival
This fragrance is absolutely beautiful and I have worn it since it launched. This LE L'Eau is backordered on Chanel website but available here at Nordies and so I ordered it late on a Friday and received it Sunday with free shipping!! And I got points with my purchase...so fast and now I get to carry this in my handbag and it enjoy it without a wait!! This little egg of a fragrance is cute and smells divine and now can be on the go with me!

Lovely bottle….but….
I ordered this product based on some reviews I read elsewhere and was really looking forward to receiving it. I discovered, when I opened the box, that I couldn’t get the top off, and that the bottle was designed to simply lay down wherever it was placed! There was no bottom. No bottom on a glass bottle full of liquid. I returned it and purchased the bottle with a bottom. Apparently this bottomless bottle is a special edition but the design leaves something to be desired….like a bottom.

Average fragrance, frustrating design
The fragrance itself is reminiscent of baby powder, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but not something I want. When purchasing the item, I was thinking that it would be a great travel fragrance- something that I could toss in my bag and reach for as needed. Though it's not a lot of fragrance, the item itself is heavy and can be slippery. The worst part for me is actually opening the top. It has a great magnetic hold, which likely deters it opening in a bag, etc., but as a result, it is extremely difficult to pry open. I had to strongly grip the bottom and pry the top open with my nails every time. It was very uncomfortable. Hopefully this isn't the case for everyone, but the design and smell didn't work for me.

LOVE!!
I love the lighter version of the scent for the warmer months. As for the bottle shape .. too cute for my handbag .. so I do not give a fig about it not being able to set upright. I travel a good deal & get scads of OH MYs as to it's design & shape .. so YIPPEE for me!!

Beautiful design, cap can be improved
I admittedly bought this for the design only. I'm a Chanel Beauty fan, and to me, this is a collector's item. Having said, I do agree with other reviewers that the cap is impossible to open. You can't twist it, just pull, it which makes it extremely slippery and hard to do.
The design works for the hand creams because you can squeeze plastic. My suggestion would be to make it a screw design.
Regarding the smell, it's Nº5 but slightly lighter, if not about the same.
