Sportswear Essential Cargo Pants

I've started wearing sportswear every chance I get during sweltering summer months, because 1. heavier fabrics = yuck in this heat, and 2. sportswear = moisture-wicking designs. Nike's collection this season really caught my eye with the strong emphasis on neutral tones that remain fairly rare in sportswear design, which is so unfortunate given how flattering and visually lengthening those colors are on literally everyone just by choosing whichever color is closest to your skin tone. I went on a massive Nike spree and was surprised that four pant designs ended up joining my wardrobe. WARNING: In trying so many Nike designs, I found that sizing varies tremendously. I'm typically a size S across the board, but with Nike pants, I was anywhere from a S all the way to a L - and yes, this does mean that I liked the designs enough that I was determined to order as many sizes as necessary to find my proper fit. This design was true to size - yay! I consider this particular pair my new favorite lounge/errand pants. I love the soft easy-care woven fabric and laughed to find that I'd accidentally fallen asleep in them one day. The soft pinky taupe is a lovely modern color with a touch of elegance that's so rare in sportswear. As a winter, this taupe is the only one outside of my color palette that I allow in my wardrobe, because the color is close enough to my skin tone to still be flattering even though it's not one of my ideal colors. -1 for not including colors available in other Nike pant designs and the cinched waist that unnecessarily draws attention to the waistline while adding bulk to the belly area - not flattering for most people. Adding the drawstring on the inside of the waistband instead would have made for a more streamlined look.

Love the look of these oversized cargo pants. I usually wear a small in Nike pants, but Nordstrom didn’t have a small in stock so I opted for the medium. They have a drawstring waist so they still fit really well. The leg width may be a little bit more oversized than Nike intended, but they look great in my opinion. Love them. Can’t wait to wear them with all my sneaks!
