Space Hippie 04 Sneaker (Men)

Nike could have executed these sneakers far better than they did with the design. Just because this sneaker is made of recycled trash doesn’t mean it had to look somewhat like trash. It’s definitely different. The materials on this sneaker are not too bad. It’s the look on-feet and overall style that made me decide it wasn’t for me. However, it’s comfortable and I do like the chunkiness of them. I ordered true to size, but I think I could’ve gone down half a size because the material is very stretchy. Here are a few photos to help you decide if these are the sneakers for you. Often, the stock photos don’t depict the true aesthetic of the sneaker.

This is a very cool concept for a shoe as it is made from well, trash. The colorways of this shoe are also very appealing. I especially like the Summit White/Multicolor version which is the one I ordered. I heard a few people suggest buying down a size in this shoe but I have very reliably been an 11M in Nike for as long as I can remember and these fit perfectly. The sole, as you can see from the pics, is very thick and I must admit, at first these were a little awkward to walk in. I attribute this to the sole being very flat on the bottom with no curves and for this reason, I can't really recommend this shoe for running. For such a thick sole, the material is pretty hard and doesn't offer anything in the way of cushion if that's what you're looking for. Having said that, the top is very much in line with other Nike FlyKnit shoes and it easily worn without a sock. The lacing pattern is also pretty wide so it makes a nice snug fit. Overall, I think this is a very good-looking shoe, true to size and I'm only taking off one star for the stiffness of the sole.

The Space Hippie 04 shoes look so much better in person than in the pictures. I loved them already when Nike released the first images and when I finally received my pair via Nordstrom I was quite happy to see that they are even better looking and more comfortable than I imagined. The other thing I noticed is the amount of compliments I've received while wearing them. They are great for conversation starters. Regarding to size, they fit exactly the same way as I expected as I'm always ordering the same size in a Nike shoe.
