New York Leather East/West Midi Tote

The bag is beautiful however it is smaller than I thought. The picture looks a bit bigger than it actually is. But the quality overall is good and the bag is gorgeous. I gave it a four star because the item was packaged like any $5 bag. Not sure if it comes with a dust bag or not because I did not receive one. I don’t know what’s going on with Nordstrom lately when you order online as the items are not packaged the right way they are supposed to. Lately some high end items I have ordered online are not coming with their respective packaging, dust bags. Shame on Nordstrom and their quality control specially when your are buying high end / luxury items through them.

I’m very dissatisfied with this purchase. I received a used handbag, which had small pet hairs inside, a detached tag thrown in the bottom, and no dust bag. In addition to that, the bag was smaller than expected, and the magnetic closures don’t seem to work very well. Definitely doesn’t warrant the higher price of this bag. It’s going right back to Nordstrom.

Nordstrom has previously set the bar for customer service. If I want to order something, I first check to see if it is available from Nordstrom. I did so when ordering this Demellier bag. I saw the other reviews and thought it was a fluke. I WAS WRONG. The bag I received was in poor condition, and the packaging was suspect!! The bag was in a larger plain box with no packaging. I watched a few unboxes of this bag when deciding to purchase. These bags were in a Demellier dust bag and in a Demellier box. The bag I received was not in the same dust bag, and there was no box. The bag had clearly been purchased and returned or was on display because the interior of the bag was covered in lint and what looked like a few dog hairs. The plastic covering was still on the hardware but was not still on all of the metal feet on the bottom of the bag. There was one vague scratch. Even the tissue used to stuff the bag was suspect - there were two smallish old wads of tissue in the bag - not the stuffing that would be in a new bag. I took the bag to my local Nordstrom to see if they could order a replacement for me, but the bag is now out of stock. This bag is certainly expensive enough that this presentation was just an INSULT! When I took the bag to the store, the previous hallmark Nordstrom customer service was absent. The poorly spoken lackadaisical person working in purses made no apologies or recognition of the poor condition of the bag. He only made excuses! "The lint was from the dustbag - this time of year (November-December) there are seasonal employees, and it was probably one of them. The bag is not in stock - shrug." So unacceptable! I asked if they could clean the bag - he said he didn't think so. I did not pay a discounted "consignment" store rate to receive a used bag - but I did receive a bag that is not in new condition worthy of the retail price. Now, the bag is not in stock!! Nordstrom should be embarrassed! This certainly makes me less inclined to continue to rely on Nordstrom!
