Fresh Foam MOR Running Shoe (Women)

These shoes felt a little bit short, and I ordered wide for my relatively wide feet. The sizing is hard for me to comment on because I have a custom orthotic that impacts size. My main comment is that these shoes are very bouncy. That can sound like a uniformly good thing, but, not necessarily. I'm keeping them, but the difference with regular sneakers is noticeable. If you’ve ever walked on sand, you know that a lot of your walking energy goes into maintaining your stability and pushing back up with each step. That’s essentially what you get with these sneakers. You end up working extra hard; in my case, even though I walk about 5 miles a day, relatively high speed, the sneakers make my legs and bottom a bit extra tired. I don’t mind. But it’s a different type of experience. I decided I’m keeping them but will trade off with other ruining shoes I have that are more flat and less bouncy. I think the difference might be good for me. Sometimes, especially if you have an injury, a PT will have you on an unstable ground; the idea is that the instability helps you develop your core. That’s what I feel like when I wear these sneakers. It's something that might give me an extra challenge. That said, if you are a little unstable on your feet or not up for an additional challenge, these may not be for you.
