What it is: A lip product that gives you the convenience of a pencil with the application of a lipstick in a jumbo-size crayon design.

What it does: It instantly coats your lips with rich pigment, imparting a velvet matte finish for seamless color. Its long-lasting yet nondrying formula is enriched with special emollients for a creamy texture, while a combination of unique silicones ensures pristine color for hours.

How to use: Use this pencil for lining, as an allover lip color or pair it with another lip product.

Gorgeous and Long Lasting

I bought this lipstick pencil in Cruella, which is a beautiful deep red. I have brown hair and eyes with olive skin (slight yellow undertones) and it is perfect. I wear it for day with just black eyeliner and MAC's Shroom and it is fine for the office - pretty but not trampy! At night you can do a more sultry eye and the red is much more glam. I was amazed that it stays on practically all day and doesn't feather at all. It goes on feeling creamy. So many of these sticks feel and look a little cakey, but not this one. I think this shade would be a gorgeous red on just about anyone, although it may be iffy on someone with strawberry blonde hair. I think it could be too dark. Of course you could always go by Nordstrom and the beauty consultants will find the perfect shade for you. I attached a pic - I would call this a "day look".

What’s in a name?

Won’t buy this product given the horrendously offensive names. Never thought of lipstick color names as misogynistic but these sure are. Marketing has reached a new low with Nars.

HEAVENLY!

These NARS velvet matte lip pencils are the best matte lipsticks I have ever owned! Hands down takes the cake! They are the creamiest, moisturizing, light and pigmented matte lipstick there is, it is literally all in one! I do not know how NARS does it but I just cannot get enough, I have it in 5 color, NEVER SAY NEVER, BAHAMA, DOLCE VITA, CRUELLA and DAMNED and honestly I don't think I can pick a favorite. THANK YOU NARS!!!!

If you're looking for bold colors with longevity and a smooth finish then look no further. NARS' lipstick pencil is perfect for any occasion and it doesn't leave behind that dry feeling most lip pencils do. The velvet matte finish is smooth and muted so if you want a shiny finish you have to either choose a shade with glitter flecks in it or I suggest NARS' 'Triple X' clear gloss. I have this lipstick pencil in dragon girl, dolce vita, and roman holiday and couldn't be happier. Word of caution though, if you're using any shade of red I suggest using some kind of lip treatment under the color as your lips will have a red tint after if you wear it directly on your skin.

Pretty pink with coral tone

I really like this lip pencil. I was looking for a long lasting pinkish coral color to wear for my wedding. The sales lady said this would last all day. I bought the color sex machine and I like it. I’m going to wear the orgasm lip gloss over it! The photo is not great quality and was taken w flash at night but Iove the color !

Smooth application & great texture.

I like these pencils. They aren’t matte to the point of making your lips look dry and cakey. They aren’t shiny though either, which I like. They go on smooth and stay on pretty well. The color options are good too, I loved the endangered red (a lot of color, more for night or special occasion use) and Do Me Baby (more of an everyday rose/updated mauve color). Hope that helps!
