Wrong Color
I love Nars foundation & have worn it for years. At age 76 I am frequently complimented on my skin. Unfortunately my color has been discontinued! So sad. The new color I tried, Gobi, doesn’t match my skin tone. Very disappointed.

I really wanted to love this foundation because it was full coverage and covered hyperpigmention really well, and was such a perfect color match. I purchased the shade Valencia (a new Nars shade) I have dry and sensitive skin, acne prone skin.
However, this foundation does NOT live up to its long wear and transfer resistant claims. It transfers so very easily and started to break apart within a few hours. I looked oily, which is so odd because I’m so dry. I’ve seen many positive reviews for this product, so I even contacted Nars for help to make it work because the shade match was sooo amazing. They recommended primer and powder, however that did not work as well. Unfortunately, this foundation is going back.

Nars Foundation
I was hesitant to buy this as I've heard mixed reviews but this is working for my skin right now. I have dry aging skin (I'm 57) and this full coverage makeup is da bomb! I have some sun damage and it conceals that as well as giving me an even skin tone. The full coverage is not heavy and, it lasts throughout the day.

Feels heavy, looks too dewy
I loved the way this foundation looked when I first applied it, but about an hour later it started feeling very heavy on my skin, which is not usually a problem I have with foundation. I also started getting a lot of oil breakthrough after just a few hours, which is also not usual for me. I'll keep trying this to see if I can make it work, but will probably be returning it.

Not for Acne Prone Skin
I have fair, neutral undertone, combination skin with acne scarring. I've been wearing Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Longwear Cushion Foundation in 090 Ivoire and it's a near perfect color match, but expensive for the small amount of product. I ordered Oslo, Mont Blanc, and Deauville to see which color matched. Oslo was the closest, but a tad too pink. Mont Blanc looked like fake tanner and Deauville was too dark. I wore Oslo for a few days, but had to blend it down my neck because of the pink undertone not matching well. The finish is pretty matte. It looked like I was wearing heavy foundation even though I only used 1 pump of product and blended like crazy, looked great over my oily patches, but clung to my dry patches, also didn't cover acne scarring. The foundation is not supposed to clog pores. It broke out in tiny, surface acne all over my face/neck. I stopped using it for few days and wore my Lancome foundation instead and my skin cleared up again, so I returned them. This is great for someone with non sensitive, non combination skin who only needs to even out mild discoloration.

Not Truly Long Wear
I'm conflicted because I absolutely love the dewy finish to this foundation. It looks and feels great, even on hot days. I have used Estee Lauder Double Wear for years, but have been looking for something more glowy and less matte. This NARS foundation definitely is just that, but it only lasts about 6-7 hours before it starts to look bad. So, if I work a full day and then go grab drinks after, it's almost all off by the time I get home. I'm bummed- if this was truly a long wear foundation, I would highly recommend it. I think I'll have to stick with Estee Lauder for now.
