What it is: A long-wearing eyeliner with rich, creamy color that glides on smoothly with a completely budgeproof finish.
What it does: It provides incomparable 12-hour wear with no smearing and no caking while swiping on rich, intense color. It features a built-in sharpener too so your pencil's always sharp.
How to use: For a precise line, lift your top lashline gently with your fingertip and fill in gaps between the roots of your lashes. Continue to trace along your upper waterline to darken your lashline. For a smoky look, line along your lashline then smudge and blend up toward the bridge. Layer with a deep eyeshadow, then blend and diffuse.
Pro tips: To achieve a soft point, twist up the pencil color to slightly above the height of the sharpener blade. Hold the sharpener still in one hand and gently insert the pencil and turn the pencil clockwise, shaving the edges to a soft point. Repel the pencil color so only the sharpened area is exposed.

Great Product!
I have worn eyeliner since I turned 13 - always painting it on with a brush because I need one that doesn't come off under my eyes. What a relief to find this product - great color, goes on easily even in both waterlines, and does not budge. A real time saver and great way to simplify my life! I seem to choose the gray color most often.

Does not last
This eyeliner claims to last 12 hours and it does not! by the end of my work day I look like a football player. I get it all underneath my eyes. Does not work at all very disapointing!

Great Product!

That's all there is to it. Perfect, rich dark brown color. Goes on smoothly. Stays all day. It is everything they said it would be! The ONLY thing is that I was helped by someone from another brands counter. She told me it was out and ordered it for me. Lovely and perfect. She assumed however that I had used it before and did not tell me that you don't sharpen it with a regular sharpener. I am now trying to salvage my new pencil. You should know that it comes with an Itty bitty sharpener in the top for just the pencil tip.

what's wrong with this stuff??
I love NARS, generally. But there is something weird with this eyeliner. I had the Rue Bonaparte for the waterline and also one of the purples. The Rue was ok, but not very dramatic. The purple just….I don't know. It does not work. It is at once clumpy and weirdly thin. By thin, I mean, it delivers like no color. But you can't build it because it clumps. It is also kind of hard and dry and tugs and you end up with a weird undefined smear of color. I'm frankly surprised NARS put out something so mediocre.

Awesome pencil
I've been on the hunt for the perfect pencil to use on the inner rim of the bottom lid & this one fits the bill. It has a soft & creamy consistency v. soft & crumbly, so I don't get little flecks of pencil in my eye or my lower lashes. It stays put all day, even after a workout at the gym. I also love the fact that it's self-sharpening. If you're looking for an inner rim pencil, I highly recommend.

Perfect to help set eyeliner under eyes
I've used this eyeliner for years. I create a soft nude line below the dark eyeliner under my eyes. It helps keep the dark liner from moving away from it's original place and job of highlighting my eyes.

Disappointed
I was excited about this product as it promised long-wear! I have used Clinque, Bobbi Brown, Trish McEvoy, Estee Lauder, and Lancome eye-liner pencils and I find that all of them only last about 4-5 hours. I didn't find the Nars pencil creamy as advertised- you can't soften the edges once it's on (even if you move quickly!). It lasted a bit longer than the others, but not enough to make it worthwhile. I will be returning it. In fairness to NARS, I am a bit older and maybe my skin is just too "relaxed" on my eyelids to get a smooth application--- however, I don't have that problem with the other brands mentined above.
