Small Max Tote

sadly, this was an expensive mistake. The straps slide off my shoulders so easily that I cannot use it. Loved it at first until I went shopping and it drove me crazy. The alternative strap that clips on works better but is unattractive. There should be another surface on the underside that is not so slick.

I spent a significant amount of time researching totes before I bought this on sale in the wave tie dye pattern. As noted by other reviewers the shoulder straps do not work. I am a size small, petite and I actually bought Velcro straps, non slip, to wrap around the handles to keep them tight and together but it is not a true fix. This bag has resulted in consternation and tremendous inconvenience for me in a long work commute. I wanted to switch from a backpack to carrying a tote and putting my laptop in a sleeve with a handle. This bag is bulky when packed (water bottle should be packed first in the side pocket) and along with its puffy material is just too much to manage - even with the crossbody strap. I tried to make it work because I got it at the sale price but had I paid full price it would have been an easy return decision. The bag is unstructured and because of this it requires some digging into and holding up the edges to keep it upright as I do a deep dive to look for items. Regardless of the multiple videos and photos showing it sitting on the shoulders it will not stay. It is what it is - an unstructured, lightweight, nylon, crossbody bag with minimal, strategically placed, leather accents. If you plan to wear this bag as a crossbody and are able to get it on sale to tryout then go for it.

This tote is the perfect size for travel or even everyday use. The four external pockets are great for water bottle, phone, boarding pass, snack. The inside fits my purse, iPad and sweater/wrap, plus more room. I originally got the similar larger Max II tote but realized it was way too big/tall for my needs. Only thing I’d like on this smaller version is the luggage handle sleeve option that’s on the larger version and not on this version.

Do you find yourself carrying the Small Sutton and a tote bag because you have to drink water? That’s what I have done. Every time. Water + cellphone together = dead phone + water leaking... It got ridiculous the number of times I had to do that. I’m returning the small Sutton, which lacks structure and has no space for a water bottle. Pros I like that the crossbody strap is way thicker/wider and you can carry this on your shoulder if you want! You don’t get this with the small Sutton. Do you believe in angel numbers? Email says it was delivered at 1:11 today.
