Down Low Undercover Cutoff Denim Shorts

I love almost everything about these shoets: length (even though I'm only 5'2"), the material, and the style. However...the zipper is strange: stops really low so you're almost worried you won't be able to pull it up and the placket covering the zipper doesn't stay in place, exposing the zipper. Either the pair I bought is flawed or it's a design error. I kept the shorts bc I'd washed them before I wore them but if I'd have noticed when I initially tried them on, I wouldn't have kept them. I only wear them with a longer shirt to cover the zipper area and that solves the open placket issue.
