Volumizing Mousse

I've tried so many (too many!) products to add volume to my fine but dense head of hair. Everything I've tried, I felt like I had to compromise on one thing. One product would be sticky but work well visually. Another would be weightless but then do nothing at all to volumize. This mousse just checks all the boxes. Not sticky, no residue, makes my hair shiny and bouncy without weighing it down and a little goes a very long way, so you won't go through a can too fast. It helps me shape my hair and also has some hold to keep it styled all day. I also notice that when I use this my "second day hair" is easier to manage. The only issue I ever had with this was that it took a few tries to figure out exactly how much product my hair needed, but that seems like a pretty standard issue for any new product.

I decided to try this because I recently fell in love with the brand's hairspray. Unfortunately, though, this product doesn't hold a candle to the Alterna Thick and Full Volume Mousse. I have short, fine, dry, wavy hair that really needs volume and falls completely flat with products that dry it. I'm taking this back - it does not add volume and does leave a matte finish - just what I want to avoid. That Alterna mousse is fabulous - it adds tons of volume and shine that lasts more than one day - I never should have strayed!
