Molecule 01+ Mandarin Eau de Toilette

We had the travel size of this, after trying the line in store. Initially this applies strongly and is both fresh and extremely mandarin-y. This is the part he enjoys most, but that is what top notes are for - to sell the fragrance. However the mandarin element faded very quickly and within a short period was quite subtle, leaving mostly the woody notes of iso super E discernable. This happens to suit my partner anyway, but it is not the case for everyone. He finds this makes a pleasant daytime fragrance and has enjoyed using it. I do have difficulty seeing why a single fragrance ingredient mandarin (presumably a synthetic version, so another simple ingredient), should be priced higher than Hermes (he wears Terre d'Hermes often). At this price point, I'd go Hermes every time for complexity, longevity and interest. However if you want something simple and pleasant, you like citrus and iso super E suits your skin, this might be your choice instead.

I'm a bit of a perfume collector trying to find 'the' one and enjoying the journey while I search for it. Molecules Mandarin is a top contender for the title and I love how zingy and fresh it is. It really does smell like a newly opened mandarin and isn't at all synthetic smelling. There's an undercurrent of the classic Molecules 01 but the mandarin is the star of the show and I love how it suddenly makes itself known throughout the day with a burst of citrus. I find it very long lasting and always get a lot of compliments when I wear it. True to the original I think it adapts to the wearer - my boyfriend also wears this and it smells different - but still very attractive - on him.
