Miramar Wool Jacket

This is an absolutely fantastic jacket, with just a few slight flaws that keep it from being a 5-star product. To start with the jacket it lightweight but also surprisingly warm. I can imagine reaching for this jacket quite frequently during spring and fall months! The interior lining is silky smooth, which makes it easier to slide on than some jackets in this price range. The stand collar is the perfect height for me and very comfortable. The main zipper is high-quality and works well, but because it's a two-way zipper you have to pay a little more attention when zipping it up. Personally, I'd have preferred a standard zipper since I can't imagine a need to unzip the jacket from the bottom. Rodd & Gunn sizing is generally incomprehensible to me. Is this jacket "original fit" or "sports fit"? What are the measurements for a size Medium? Who knows? I'll note that I'm 5'9" tall (175cm), weigh 175lbs (79kg), and ordered a size Medium. The medium provides an acceptable fit and allows plenty of room for layering underneath. Since I don't need to layer over anything more than a T-shirt or shirt, I'm almost tempted to exchange for a size Small. Really, the only (minor) problem with this jacket are the pockets. There are two interior and two exterior pockets. ALL of the pockets zip closed and the zippers have small pull tabs that are a bit fiddly to locate. In addition to the annoying zippers, the pockets are all a bit on the small side. I have relatively small hands so I was surprised to find that the main hand-warmer pockets were a tight fit! If you have normal-sized hands, squeezing them past the zipper teeth for either the hand-warmer or interior pockets might be less than ideal. I've owned numerous jackets with zippered pockets over the years and never, ever used the zippers so I'd be happy to trade the security of zippers for the ease of entry without them.
