So sad.
I wish this awesome bag had a shoulder strap that could be hung the other way. I am left handed and wear my satchels over my right shoulder and sitting at my left hip. This bag is designed for people that wear it the other way, rendering most of the strap options useless for me. Very sad at this design.

Good but...
Bag with nice features and seems durable but there is one glaring design flaw that I can't make heads or tails of. The shoulder strap has this extraneous length of strap with a hook at the end that is used for the quick release length adjustment. Based on all of the promotional material I can find it seems like you're supposed to just let this dangle awkwardly? Which seems like a massive safety hazard when biking, an annoyance when walking, and not at all aesthetically pleasing. There is no appropriate place to secure this strap to, there is an elastic band that keeps it close to the rest of the length but it is loose and slides around which is why it ends up awkwardly dangling. You can try attaching it to any number of points on the bag itself ad hoc but it inevitably comes loose or detached so your best option is to find some kind of clip and secure it taut to itself, which ultimately defeats the point of the quick release length adjustment feature but is the only solution I can think of. An utterly baffling design decision on an otherwise nice bag.

Very comfy to wear, excellent
Very comfy to wear, excellent internal organisation, would have liked it a bit more expandible, maybe up to 20 litres.

The internal pocket layout, laptop
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The internal pocket layout, laptop sleeve and overall design are great. Very well thought-out functionality and ergonomics, as to be expected from Osprey. The width and padding on the carry strap is comfy and stable, and the bag seems like a very durable construction. Small detail, but I also appreciate the metal closure hooks for the main compartment, rather than loud / hard-to-operate buckles.
3 stars due to a few complaints (some also pointed out in other reviews):
- Would be nice to have the padded portion of the carry strap adjustable for where it sits on the strap. This bag carries nicely in riding position, with the bag high on the back. But if you are also airport commuting or just walking between meetings, etc, it can be nice to simply sling the bag over your shoulder and not necessarily be in "commute mode".
- For someone with a bigger frame, there is not enough adjustability in the stabilizer cross-body strap to get it down low-enough on the chest. It sits pretty high where it leaves the main strap, even at the bottom of it's adjustability range, such that it is located up towards the left armpit rather than on the side of the body. Would be great to just have another 1-2 inches of travel downward for the location of this strap.
- As others have mentioned, what the heck is the purpose of the metal piece on the end of the strap?? Just seems to swing around and get in the way. Maybe I can open a beer with it? Lots of other beer-opening tools out there, and overall seems somewhat useless, so I will try to remove this myself.
Any consideration of making this from waterproof materials, rather than requiring a separate rain cover?

Loving this bag
I have been loving this bag since the day I bought it. I needed to replace a worn-out backpack style laptop bag used primarily for work. My main focus was a simplistic, messenger style bag and the Metron 18 delivers. At 18L you know exactly what you are getting size wise and it allowed me to eliminate some of the unnecessary ""stuff"" you accumulate in a laptop bag over the years. The over the shoulder design carries comfortably and the material quality is excellent. Once closed and cinched the bag feels bulletproof. My only complaint would be that the bag should come with an instruction manual. The designers really did think of everything. Several days after purchase I was finding new little quirks and features of the bag that were not listed anywhere on the description - small stuff pouch for the secondary chest strap. Love it and would highly recommend.
