love them: bought two pairs

I have bought two pairs because they are very good shoes. There are a couple of caveats. I bought the first pair from REI and the second from Nordstrom. At REI they don’t categorize them as waterproof, based upon their own field testing. In my experience, they did handle a bit of snow and slush and getting soaked in a stream well, but I don’t know how they would perform for a whole day of wet. Second, I found the forefoot area too soft to work well on climbing on rocks. So they are great on softer terrain with occasional rocks but for somewhere really cliffy they are not ideal.

Cheap looking and squeaky

Not the usual Merrell. The top has an expanse of thin cheap plastic that squeaks when you walk and they have very little arch support. They don’t look like they will last.

Perfect for travel

I am always searching for the perfect hiking shoe for travel. This shoe is it: its light, supportive, has good traction and is waterproof. I will walk all over Ireland, Italy, and Switzerland in this shoe.

Lightweight Waterproof Sneaker

I bought these to replace a pair of thick, heavy Keen hiking shoes. I wanted a waterproof sneaker that was more comfortable and lightweight, and that didn't have a big, clunky sole. I found just what I was looking for in these. They are light, comfortable, and actually look good. I haven't worn them in the rain yet but so far I'm very happy with them.

No Break-in needed

These are perfect! I used the for a hike after a strong rain and didn’t slip once. The colors are subtle but feminine. The waterproof upper kept my feet dry. No breaking in required comfy from the first wear.
